Ozbargain you have never let me down but this one I feel is going to be hard to come by.
My girlfriend and I are sitting at the airport headed to the Gold Coast for the next 4 nights, we want to do the usual shopping and theme parks and a car would make things so much easier compared to hiring 50cc scooters (Even though they are fun as hell).
My question is, is there a car rental place in the Gold Coast for a 19 year old male P2 driver clean record.

Ended up picking up a car with them on Wednesday in Broadbeach. Did end up paying a high price obviously due to age. Cost me 300$ for 4 days. Not very "Ozabargainy".

You must be over 18 years of age and you are accepting your responsibility (a legal requirement in some Australian states) to provide up-to-date contact details to the car rental issuer as recorded on your driving licence.
That's a special service called hertz247. It's only in Sydney and the daily rate for a car is $75.
Otherwise it seems they don't take anyone under 21…

When one considers the cost mentioned as $ 75 per day for a period of 4 days, one gets $ 300.00. Add to that the $ 16.50 surcharge, and remember that is for Drivers 21 to 24, that is another $ 66.
So with Hertz we have $ 366.00 for 4 days for a Driver 21 to 24 and no Under 21 is served.
Let's now go back to jmal4580 above and his complaint of paying Gold Coast Car Hire ® and All Age Car Rentals $ 300 for 4 days for a car for an "Under 21 Driver"!
Methinks that keyboard warriors should really look at facts and costs and then make comments on whether something is "Ozabargainy" or not. It is like wanting a charter plane at the same cost as an ordinary economy seat in a plane and then whingeing about it after you have managed to get the charter flight to drop you off at your destination even though you did not pay charter flight prices. Makes sense? Well that is what jmal4580 is complaining about.
I work in Customer service in the hospitality industry and it is people like this who get my goat constantly wanting everything without wanting to pay the costs and then complaining about it for the rest of their lives. A shame and what makes many of us not want to bother about ccustomers after regulara experiences that many of us quit the industry and why it has such a high turnover in staff.
Astounds me how this jmal4580 complains after enjoying his holiday in one of our cars and considering that he had a choice of not hiring it. I remember how excited he appeared to be when he could finally get a car and now he complains. Thanks Gold Coastie for your support.
You are right about armchair warriors such as this gentleman.
For starters the cost of Insuring them is great and which is why All Age Car rentals are the only company in Australia with bonafide insurance with a proper insurance company even though many have tried to copy us.
We were the first and are the only company in the whole of Australia for this service since 1999.
Coming to the costs, I remember clearly jmal4580 telling me that the price was cheaper than the majors whom he tried and their prices for a driver over 25 years was over $ 150 more than what we were charging. Besides, we only rent new cars and the prices had been compared by jmal 4580 himself.

Go to the car hire booths and ask them directly if you can :) It seems they might let you hire a car, but it comes down to individual basis, you cant simply book online
