  • Do you have an specific bargains (as per the posting guidelines) or is this just a general spam advert?

  • Your website has no 'full bedroom suites' listed, and virtually no 4 piece suites for under $1000
Either the 'Wholesale Price' suggested here is not on your website (the 6 week clearance link goes nowhere, says to read catalog), or the above post is spam.

You posted this 2 months ago https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/237058
Indicating you have been 'overstocked' for months … but now have increased your prices by $100's?

    Just some examples:
Bushland Queen 4pc Tallboy Suite, then $899, now $1088
    Bushland Queen 4pc Dresser/Mirror Suite, then $999, now $1146
Woolshed Hall Table, then $249, now $292
Woolshed Work Bench, then $299, now $372
Woolshed Medium Buffet, then $349, now $455

Please list some real and specific bargains (at least cheaper than your last post) and you might interest myself and others to come and visit.

  • Hi Wolfy, thanks for the comment on the post, i work at Furniture Super Mart and i'll try my best to address some of the Concerns you have :)

i can assure you, this is far from spam advert, We are a Manufacturer who has and on some ranges still supply some of the bigger brand stores all over Australia, we are having a huge clearance direct to the public now due to overstock.

The bedroom suites we are selling are all exactly the same solid timber suites with a tallboy from the other stores which are going for 1700+ retail, our price direct to public is a minimum 600 off that, we also have everything brand new in stock with warranties.

The 9 ranges on the website is just a limited sample of whats in store, we have a floor stock section where all 7 piece dining settings are $499 with 9 piece settings at $599-$649.

We have just now finalized the prices on all the in store stock, Wolfy it is 6 million dollars of stock which we have to move hence the half retail price and also the length of time it's taking to move it plus in store has some other deals not present on the website, those are the ranges we have catalogs for.

Wolfy i'd like to extend an invitation to come in over the weekend and see for yourself then report back to the oz bargains community, i wouldn't offer this unless i was 100% confident in what we offer to the public here, i'd like to post some comparisons of the retail price vs what we are selling for but i don't wanna site specific examples so as not to be held liable for slander, but check other "larger" company websites then check ours :P

I've had families save thousands on large purchases with us and we stand by what we do here, Any other concerns, please call the shop during retail hours and i'd be happy to address them, thanks for commenting Wolfy :)

    • The comparison I made above is simply your prices today compared to your prices 2 months ago, they are $100's more expensive now, so how is this a bargain? Two months ago you were 'overstocked' and now you are selling things at more expensive prices.

As for the $6million stock to sell, it was the same 2 months ago and the same again when the Google maps truck went past your shop whenever that was.I still fail to see what makes this deal a bargain, special or better than your prices 2 months ago which were cheaper?

    • Thanks for the invitation, I visited twice today and compared with ~8 other nearby furniture retailers.

Happy to report that prices are cheaper here than the 3-4 places selling exactly the same stock on the other side of the road/around the corner.
In addition, some individual pieces of damaged/miss matched/floor stock have nice discounts.
If you have OCD and need everything in the house to match, the various ranges at Furniture Super Mart include a variety of matching pieces (more so than most other places I looked at).

However, the ticket price in-store is exactly as on website and more expensive then ~2 months ago (as above) and the "6 million dollars of stock" appears to be a long running, ongoing and indefinite marketing campaign.

In addition (and my primary reason for not making a purchase) I was disappointed in the quality of what I looked at.
      * many things (draws, doors etc) did not feel 'sold'
      * no runners on small draws (book cases & display cabinets)
      * nail/glued/butt joints not dove-tail/reinforced joints (every draw in shop that I opened)
      * lightweight (not solid wood) flimsy feeling shelving
      * unfinished look on some pieces (no paint/stain inside the Farmhouse bookshelf & display cabinets, competitive/low price on these though)

In terms of bedroom packages, if budget is the primary consideration, I would be looking at Super Amart's budget ranges (Mossman, Pinehurst, Tully) where Queen 4 piece start at $699 (less 10% CashRewards rebate & includes an innerspring mattress).
Some other Super Amart bedroom packages (Settler, Boulder, Bisbee, Woodgate, Silverwood) seem to address most of the issues above and feel more 'sold' to me. If their catalog specials are combined with the 10% CashRewards rebate, prices are in the same ball-park as Furniture Super Mart, but both shops and many others are all within a min's dive, so just compare them all and pick what you like the best for your needs/budget.
