Turtle Beach XO One (Xbox One) Gaming Headset $60 (down from $119) @ Target Rhodes NSW

100

Turtle Beach stereo gaming headset.

I purchased one earlier this year when they went on clearance at Big W for $69. Is a great headset which includes the Audio Controller so it will work on any Xbox One controller.

This offer, I believe, is nationwide while stocks last. The Rhodes store had 4 units left.

  • are they any good ?

    • My only complaint (because I have big ears) is that the cups/cushion press against the outer edges of my ears. When I first started using them, after an hour or so it became uncomfortable. However, after many weeks of using them, I have gotten used to it and I no longer notice it.

I really like that all of the game audio (music, sound effects, and chat) all play through the headphones. So I can play games with the TV volume completely muted.

You can reduce the in game music and sfx while increasing the chat volume. You can also control the overall volume.

They are not the best headset for hard core gamers, but they are certainly a very good headset that will serve the casual gamer very well at $60.

i have very small ears so dont think i would get that problem .
thanks i think il get a pair!

  • Can you plug any pair of headphones into the audio controller?

    • I'm pretty sure you can.

The headset has three black bands on it, much like a mobile phone chat headset (http://tinyurl.com/zn22hmf) so I'd say that you should have no problems connecting another headphone (just for listening) or a chat headset (for listening and talking).

I have a pair from the bigw deal and I've been using these almost daily for rocket league :D

I find them pretty comfortable, even for 4-5 hours of straight gaming. I've had a few issues with them tho:

    • if you use the audio controller, it removes the ability to control ANY sound feature from your laptop fn keys, so once you plug it in, you can only control volume from the audio controller.

    • I think there's an order for what you need to have plugged in first. I've had issues plugging in the audio controller after I connect the xbox controller.

Overall, it is still a great headset for casual gaming. The gaming headset still looks brand new and I actually really like the mic feedback feature.

    • "it removes the ability to control ANY sound feature from your laptop fn keys"
So this problem, and the order for plugging things in, only occurs when you are using your Xbox One controller as a PC gaming controller?

I've never had any problems with the functions of the unit while using it on an Xbox One.

      • Yeah, I don't own an xbox one, I use it purely as pc gaming controller

  • Is this the same as this one shown online for $10?

  • I can look up stock quantity if anyone is interested?

    • Northland store? In Vic. Thanks dude!

      • Quantity in the system is
        Northland: 4

(one of the few stores in vic that shows stock, I'd ring and ask for a hold to save going in on the off chance the quantity is wrong)

          Got one! Thanks.
          There were 2 more left.

    • While you are at it, could you check Macarthur NSW and Wollongong NSW. I've got two friends who are too lazy to go in and check for themselves.

      • doesn't seem to be any, the only NSW stores showing stock is Roselands: 1 and Liverpool: 4

        • Are you please able to check if any stores west of Melbourne have any? Called the head office number earlier today but was advised the inventory system was down. Called a few stores but no luck.

        • @cheepo:
Interesting, this is likely due to the fact stocktake starts tomorrow.. (today)

Melbourne stock can pretty much be summarised by these stores:

          Highpoint City: 6
          Epping: 3
          Waverley Gardens: 3
          Northland: 2

          @Retail:

Cheers - certainly wasn't expecting a reply at 1:30am but i appreciate it.

Was advised by Highpoint that there were none in stock - for anybody else looking. I did however managed to get a set put aside at one those stores you listed as will be in the area. Thanks again.

Regardless, awesome of you to utilise your own time to do that.

  • with the risk of sounding retarded, besides the audio controller, should this headphone work with anything with that a 3.5mm jack? ie PC or mobile phone, my guess is yes, but on Turtle Beach's website, it only says that it is compatible with Xbox One.

    Thx :)

PS saw two units at Chatswood Target today
