PSN/PS4 Region Locking between PAL Territories

I have an understanding of the region locking that applies to the PS4 (DLC will only work with a game disks from the same region and DLC codes are locked to a single region)

I understand that America and Australia are treated as completely separate regions on PSN.
However I am confused if other PAL terrorises (UK/Europe) is treated as the same or completely seperate regions from Australia. Have read conflicting information online as to which is the case.

Specifically I wanted to use a European DLC code with a European game disk on my Australian PSN account.

  • It's very rare that this happens. If worse comes to worse you could always make a psn account under a UK alias, redeem it, then switch accounts. This shouldn't be needed though

  • Yep as above, 99% of EU codes work here as we all share the same store just using different currencies. The only problem comes when the content is not licensed for a particular region.

    • So if a title was commercially released in Australia it should all be good?

      • Yep, just take it for granted that what you're buying will work. It really is rare for it not to. If it doesn't you can make a UK account, download the DLC and it will work when playing through your AU account.
