Cheap Phone for Telechoice Network

A family friend is looking for a cheap handset that is 4G compatible to work on the Telechoice network.

I had a look at the Telstra prepaid cheapies but staff said it is locked to Telstra and even Telechoice sims (who use their network) won't work.

Looking for something $50 or under.

Thanks

  • Get the Optus Alcatel Pixi from Coles for $35 next Wednesday then unlock it.

    • There's a fee though right?

      • Under $2 on ebay.

  • Telechoice network?

Haha clearly somebody's smoking the good stuff over at Failstra…

    • Yeah, I thought the same thing. Probably just trying to upsell.

      • I had a decommissioned 4G Optus USB Modem from work a while ago, and we were looking to change our internet provider at home which would give us some downtime due to technician unavailability for tinkering with the line.

I hit up Virgin Mobile for a month to month wireless broadband plan when he told me if I had a modem. I told him I had an Optus modem and the guy insisted that it wouldn't work. I even showed him the modern and him and his brainless colleague both agreed that the modem wouldn't work.

I strongly insisted that I'd be fine with it and for them to just give me the sim or I'd simply go elsewhere, and they reluctantly handed it over. Toddled off home, plugged in the sim, did the activation and get presto - wireless internet FTW!

    • Isn't Telechoise on Voda?

      • It's on Telstra.
