My GTX 750 Just Died. What Should I Buy Next?

So my GTX 750 died yesterday :(. I have 2 chain of thoughts:

1/ Sell the rig completely, buy a mac and stop my Battlefield addiction. Play about 4 hours a week.

2/ Buy a new card, What's a good card to buy at the moment for < $300?

What do you guys think? I am not quite sure if i'm a indecisive person.

Buy a Mac, grow a beard and move to San Fransisco.

  • Play Battlefield in pixelated mode? LOL!!

Maybe get a GTX960? For your budget really there isn't much to choose from.

    • Some people suggest the price of GTX 960 are going to drop as 1070 are just around the corner!

Yea most likely every GPU on the market will drop once 1070 comes out. Depends on how long can you wait and how much the drop is..

        • let's say i can hold my addition off for 1 month. What do you think? Buy now or 1 month time :D

        • @tomleonhart: I think your brain have a good "holding" mechanism. LOL!! How much would the drop going to be realistically? 10%? 20%? Is it worth the wait? All depends on you mate..

        • @tomleonhart: Not sure if the 1070 will be out in 1 months time… I know the 1080 is scheduled for release in June though… that might affect some GPU prices.

        • @ProjectZero: ah . eff it. MSY here I come

@tomleonhart: If performance & brand really doesn't bother you, get a cheap branded GPU. ie: Gainward instead of MSI/Gigabyte/Asus

        • @ykwon10: roger!

@tomleonhart: or speak to SE rep. Maybe he can give you a good deal.

        • @ProjectZero: Top end prices more likely

        • @airzone: yeah, but it might adjust the mid range stuff as well. Doubt it will be by a lot though.

If you can't wait for the new generation of cards to be released, there are some decent deals on cards on Gumtree. E.g. Asus 7970 for $200, Gigabyte GTX760 for $150. Can also look on ebay for deals. I have bought a few 2nd hand video cards and never had any worries with them.

Close, I had a GT 750 years ago, a fantastic touring bike and looked great too.

Oh, you are not talking scoots here are you?

    Bummer.

  • watch graphics card deals here, hopefully something will come up in the mid range price not just top end
