Warranties for online purchase

Hi ozbargainers,

This is my first question/post so please direct me if I'm posting in the wrong forum.

I've bought an online tablet from BecexTech which had 12 months Australian warranty; during our first year we had to send our product to repair 4 times and in the last month of the warranty period we informed both the repairer and BecexTech that the product still isn't working as it should and requested a refund/replacement and they gave us the assurance that it would be replaced if the problem still exist after another (supposedly final) repair. However the final repair took longer and needles to say our warranty had lapsed. And further exchange of emails and their so called investigation they said our product actually works as it should and they won't replace or refund.

The fact is that the product doesn't work and I'm left empty, its their words against my.

Can anyone help me out what to do here? I've tried contacting Fair Trading as well and will have to lodge a complaint which may prove difficult as we all know that the purchase is from overseas so their power is limited.
