Does anyone think its strange the bundle inc Dead Island and Riptide and then they give you a 75% off the Dead Island Definitive Collection which includes both remastered?

    • It is strange, that said… Dead Island lagged on my PC which was solved by changing CPU affinity. So I assume that it's because they know that their old port is beyond awful.

    • They just released/about to release the remastered version… So flogging off the old versions, while also enticing you to upgrade.

Not strange at all, just crap (in the sense the bundle deal is inflated: Either the voucher is redundant, if you don't upgrade, or two games are redundant, if you do).

      • I didn't own the original two games, but I see it as a chance to get the best price on the remastered version.

And hopefully the voucher lasts past release so we can see if the new version is actually worth buying. Often they aren't.

        • Should add that as a detail :P

Let me edit the deal, it lasts until August 6th, 2016 at 4:00 a.m. Australian Time (if my conversion is correct).

if you own the original two games on Steam, then you get something like a 90% discount - it cost me $3 USD each to upgrade to the definitive version. I skipped the 16 bit side scrolling fighting game which cost extra, as it doesn't interest me at all.

        • @Oversimplified:

Thanks for adding that. Sounds like that should be more than enough time to find out if the new versions are worth a purchase.

          @gizmomelb:

          Glad somebody pointed this out.

Current discount if you already own the original game or Riptide is 85% but only valid till 1st of June - just prior to the release of the Definitive editions. It will cost you $3 USD per game to upgrade before then.

The discount code you get with the this bundle is 75% but valid till the 6th August. So you could wait after the release of the Definitive editions. Likely be around $5 USD per game to upgrade.

Yeah, it's not much of a difference but guess it may be worth waiting to see reviews first if you want to get the Definitive Editions and purchasing the 2nd tier of this bundle.

yep cos the definitive edition is $39.99 so 75% off is $10USD. But it also includes Retro Revenge.

        • @star chasm:

          Point taken.

"crap" was too strong a word, and I was talking only from the point of view of receiving redundant items. But I take the point that that in itself might have value (for getting the definitive edition cheaper, or giving the time to assess whether to get the definitive version, etc), adding value for some.

        • @cheepo: the definitive editions should be the same game, just with higher resolution models and textures.. I only played a bit of the first one (but enjoyed it) so a play through of the definitive edition just means it'll look nicer. Ideally the engine and gameplay will be updated to use the same engine as Dying Light (awesome game imo), but I don't think the definitive edition is a re-imagining.

for me same goes for the Arkham series of games which will be re-released on the PS4 and XB1 soon - I never played the original games on PS3/360/PC so better textures/models will mean a nicer play through on the newer consoles.

        • @gizmomelb: Better optimisation would be nice too. It's from the same year as Skyrim, I assume that's why I need to change CPU affinity option on task manager to run it on one core.

        • @gizmomelb:

I never got a change to properly play either of the Dead Island games so this an opportunity to do so when I upgrade to a proper gaming rig. I'm aware that these are essentially the same game but with updated graphics (and the original games are generally well perceived) but the PC versions of these could potentially have issues upon release. I know this can apply to any game but PC ports appear to be the ones that generally suffer.

On the other hand, I've played the first three Arkham games extensively on the Xbox 360 and thoroughly enjoyed those from start to finish. Yes, even Origins. Anybody playing these for the first time will have blast. My only gripe is that the original games looked stunning to begin with and the release of this collection likely means that they are now unlikely to be backwards compatible.

  • Anyone know if the steam codes are for individual games?

    • +3

      All individual Steam keys. :)

      • Thanks mate!

  • $10 USD for remastered or $3.45 for the normal ones…

  • Grabbed this bundle last time. Great value gaming pack for a new PC Master Race initiate. Get it SRIV alone if you haven;t played it, masses of co-op fun!

    • And you'd be able to complain about how consoles are killing off gaming industry by complaining about bad ports with Dead Island :)

  • +4

If anybody got spares for Riptide and Killer is dead, I am happy to trade for my spares. PM please.

    • +2

Not sure why you are being downvoted, trading games is a great idea.

Maybe you should post some of the games you would be willing to trade the codes for.

I just picked up the bundle and may want to trade those away :)

(I do need to check out reviews first as I might actually want to keep them).

      • I am all for a Ozbargianers Bundle Leftovers Trading Group +1 to your idea.

      • I think posting long lists of games here will cause a negging storm/uproar. Don't want to risk that. Have them all in a list (word) if interested.

        • +3

Have you tried barter.vg? It makes trading pretty easy, and the fact you already have a list makes it even easier to set up.

          @Charlesberg22:

No, never heard of it. Thank you very much. Will try it.

The humble bundles have been good lately.

  • +1

This is a good way to get risen as it is unavailable on steam through an Australian ip.

  • Has anyone here traded games with ozbargainer 2fish7? I traded with him/her a few hours ago and it all seemed to go well (I traded a humble key for a steam gift) but the game he traded is being held onto by steam and won't complete the transaction until 15 days from today because he/she doesn't use the steam app authenticator? and at any point during the 15 day 'hold', the transaction can be cancelled… I tried messaging him/her via PM about 7hrs ago and no reply…. should I be worried?

    • +1

Give him/her the benefit of the doubt. Has been a member since 2011 so I think you will likely be OK. The Steam app authenticator is crap - I had to get an unofficial one as I have a Windows phone.

      • I just want to let everyone know 2fish7, is definitely a scammer! He cancelled the 15 day hold on the game, which surprised me as he has been a member of ozbargain since 2011. I have left him a whole bunch of messages trying to get a hold of him via private messaging which he has NOT returned any of my messages since the 18/05/2016. this is his steam address: fiishballs, everyone should steer clear from this scammer.

        • Thanks for letting us know. Sorry to hear that. I would have expected so much better from someone who has been on here for so long.

  • There's some really good games in this bundle. Saints Row is always good for popcorn-grade fun and the PC versions are smooth and trouble-free. Worth it for that alone.

  • Anyone bought the one with Saints Row IV and Dunne need it or want to trade for a different game? I have these
