Buying an Apple iPad Pro 12.9 128GB Wi-Fi

Hi guys. I am thinking of getting an Apple iPad Pro 12.9, preferably 128GB and I'm not to bothered with it having cellular connection. To be honest, it really for sitting on the coffee table and will be used for browsing, games and reading magazines. I just don't think that 10" tablets are really suitable for the latter. I did consider a Surface Pro 4 but I think it might be a little too powerful for what I will be using it for.

The cheapest I've seen so far are the two links below. Anyone know of anyone doing them cheaper.

Hmmm, just out of curiousity, would they pay GST on them for you? I thought those two are grey stock importers and I am generally curious whether they'd make you pay the GST or whether the price is GST inclusive (as these are over $1000).

It is bit pricey, but I guess for your purpose, iPad Pro 12.9 probably would be better, hybrids really don't shine well when you use it for one purpose.
That said, wouldn't you be better off 32GB for that kind of usage pattern?

Anyways, cheaper ones I've seen are with different colours from eglobaldigitalcameras, at $1113 + shipping:

    • I'm guessing that the prices are 'all in'. Yeah, it's probably better than a surface for what I need….although I'd rather the Surface for everything else.

$100 extra for the gold version? Robbing swines!

I wonder if anyone would match the price of these or the one at Dick's? I was looking at getting one today but both have fairly long delivery times. JBHiFi or Harvey Norman perhaps?

      • These are, including Dick Smith (which is owned by Kogan and is Kogan), grey imports, so they probably wouldn't price match (I am saying probably just in off chance that some of them don't realise that it's a grey import model and price match).

Since iPad Pro 12.9 128GB's price is $1500 AUD, might be worth looking at some form of gift card hack or something like that, even 10% off that is $1350, which isn't too bad considering you'd get 2 years warranty.

        • I was thinking the same. Maybe Officeworks may fall for it! Damn shame that Bing Lee and Good Guys haven't got the iPad Pro on their eBay sites - 20% off at the mo.

I'll have a look around for some method of getting a bit of a discount. Thanks for the input.

        • @gasman70: in my experience with officeworks stores around the north shore of Sydney, they are notorious at checking every little detail. You have to go in and prepare to do battle with them to win.

  • I was out shopping, passed an Apple store and bought one at full price…with Apple Care, Apple pencil and the bloody smart cover. Oh well, easy come, easy go.

  • will office works do the 5% price match on iPads?
I found an iPad Air 2 64GB at JB Hifi for $677.
This would drop down to $643.15 with the price match.

Their terms might limit Apple products -
