ASUS - 15.6" Laptop - Intel Core i3 - 4GB Worth Buy?

Ozbargainers,

Looking for some techie feedbacks…
Bro is coming from US and I needed a basic laptop, hr is suggesting Asus - 15.6" Laptop - Intel Core i3 - 4GB - 1 TB HDD for around 250 USD.
Looks pretty good for the configuration.
I want this for normal browsing, movies and utilities….not a hard core gamer anymore..(alas)

Should I go for it?? Any experience with this model?

Deal sounds good as most of the 4gb i3 laptops are around au$450 and above. Keep in mind though that i3 have seven generations and some older generations are slower than latest Pentium quad core processors.

  • It's 5th Gen i3-5020U processor…not sure what that means…am not techie

    • 6th gen is the latest of intel cpu generations so 5th gen is pretty good, for the price he should get it.

    I assume it's this one?

It looks slightly heavy (at this price, it's nothing to complain about though). Screen panel quality is something that you can't see from spec sheet, also how well it takes care of the heat generated. Doesn't look bad on paper, but I'd probably look into it further than just looking at spec.

  • Sorry, must have missed something, what model??

  • Its the same mentioned by Oversimplified above.
