Vodafone to Optus to Vodafone

Hi all

I have recently ported from Amaysim to Vodafone and got double up inclusions: http://www.vodafone.com.au/mcp/recharge-double-inclusions

Current expiry of my SIM plan as well as the offer is 17-July-2016(Sunday)

I have a spare $2 Optus sim.
My question is: Can I port out from Vodafone to Optus on 15-Jul(Friday) morning and port back to Vodafone on the same day evening ?

The answer to your question is a resounding yes.

You should be able to complete the two ports all within the space of three hours.

    • thanks mate

    • U can do it but u will have risk of fault serivce. I used to port 1 carrier to another carrier and back to old carrier in short time. One time i am doing that then some of services waere in fault which means i can cAll or text someone but i cant recived call back or text back to me. So i have to call customer service to fix up. I got it at the end but u knew the customer sevice of carrier is the worst. Long wait ffor them to answer your call. So i better to stay away from. What i do now.. I buy 3 sims for each carrier (3 telstra, 3 optus , 3 vodFone) and swich them around every month. Take 5 minutes to 3 hours for completed porting.

  • while technically you can, I wouldn't double port without at least 24-48 hours gap. as others have suggested above, porting quickly like you want to do can cause issues where calls and/or texts aren't being sent to the correct carrier, which can be fixed, but is a pain in the butt.

  • Keep in mind you need to call up to port to vodafone same day as the online system ports prepaids the next day…unless its been improved in the last 6 months or so

    • I've ported 2 SIMS over the weekend(Sat night)
one of it was ported to Vodafone by Sunday morning - 9AM.. Second one had to wait till Monday morning- 10AM.

      very unpredictable.
