  • Just curious: What's the Founder's Edition have that the standard won't?

    • fans and pretty case likely.

    • Founder's Edition is just their name for stock reference cards. A lot of card enthusiasts prefer stock reference cards over aftermarket altered versions. Because they are usually more stable, have more chances of getting an aftermarket cooler/block installed, etc. But usually within few months of a new card's release, the reference cards vanish…. no one sells them. Founders Edition will mean you can buy a reference card if you want…through out the life cycle of the product.

    Australia Tax Strikes again!
    $1000 max with conversion.

I notice everyone has it available to buy now (scorptec, msy etc)

    $1199 for MSI and Gigabyte
    $1299 for Asus

Given the reviews i would recommend buying the 980ti, has the same benchmarks for a now greatly reduced price.
Guess there was a reason Nvidia compared this card to the 980 and not the 980ti when they announced it.

    • I agree, we were duped! 980ti for me too.

    • They were actually advertising as a good upgrade if someone had a 680 or a 780, they weren't expecting people to upgrade over a 980/980ti.

    • these early cards as similar priced in the usa, check out amazon .. lots of people complaining about the price there too…

    • i would go 980ti too if i wasn't using it for VR

      • I use a 980ti with my VR.. works without fault.

        • i know, but both Unity and Unreal will have built-in support for simultaneous multi-projection, rendering a scene twice versus rendering it only once is a big deal

    • I found that Massdrop is doing a deal on GTX 1080, even with their ridiculously high shipping cost ($85 ish Australian dollars), it's only slightly above GST threshold (I assume if you get a ship forwarder, you can get it under $1000).
