Ripped off by Scoopon

i purchased 2 blue train vouchers when they were available.

organised three of my friends to meet me there tonight.

i went online after coming home from work at 5 to find my vouchers. and the website has no record of my purchase, but they were happy to take the 80 dollars off my credit card.

i have tried emailing them and no reply.

i tried calling them but they dont have any contact number.

since the have not replied, my friends who have just arrived there, i have had to tell them to go home.

not happy.

  • bad luck…
I went for the massage vouchers in Melb… and they are in my account profile. I also remember them sending it to my email. Have you checked your email?

  • So these are electronic vouchers or you were waiting for them in the mail?

  • You receive a confirmation of the purchase? Did you check your account beforehand? Just used my vouchers for Society, it was great.

  • dont know if they were electornic or not.

did not have the chance to check for a confirmation email straight after, just saw the money was taken out of my account, later when i had the chance to, i forgot to check it.

i checked my email, and could not find any confirmation emails,

i do have emails however about all their offers since i purchased that offer, so they do have my email on record, and my account is active.

there is the chance that i deleted the email accidentally, but doubtful, still, that doesnt mean i should miss out.

    • I don't I got a confirmation email either, but I always check my account straight away to see the vouchers in my account. Hope they sort it out for you.

If you're not going to be helpful, then don't reply.

As for the OP, good luck mate. Considering that Scoopon is run by the people that handle COTD, I wouldn't be too down. It's a reputable company.

      • yeh i am pretty confident thati wont lose my money, but yeh i was venting a bit of my frustration.

i have not been home yet to check my email (personal email is blocked at work) but will let you guys know what comes of this when i get the chance to.

Sorry to hijack this thread — but I purchased a coupon 5 mins ago and it is not available for printing until the 11th of May?! That is a joke. I wanted to use it this weekend.

    • Honestly, you can never please some people.. Read the description before you make the purchase … "Bookings can only be made from 11 May 2010"

So you often purchase things without reading things clearly first? Maybe Scoopon isn't the problem here, maybe its you.

  • Sorry for hijacking this thread but I've got a similar problem. Bought Dlish (Melbourne) and Burgerman (Sydney) but could not access the vouchers on the website. Login several times, but it just shows the deal of the day. Received confirmation emails for both purchases. Another friend has a similar problem. Contacted them on their contact form but no reply.

They just replied with instructions to login but still could not access the vouchers.

Problem resolved. Managed to print out the vouchers. Seemed to be a problem on the website that you have to tick the "Keep me logged in on this computer" at the login screen in order to access the "My stuff" menus and the vouchers.

  • Had a similar problem accessing the vouchers in the "my stuff" area (need to be logged in first). Sent them an email and they replied within minutes and sorted it out for me.
As to the availability of vouchers: of course it sucks when you've got to wait a few days to print your vouchers (e.g. Burgerman) and most other similar sites aren't doing that… but hey, read the conditions and don't complain later after you purchased.

PS: Hoping there will be a site soon where you can oversee all offers of all major sites, eg. scoopon, ouffer, ourdeal, myoffer, etc

(when I saw the first site like that I thought what a fantastic business idea. Even thought about what it might take to start something similar up. Obviously a lot of others thought that too - and faster than me… :) I wonder how many more sites are coming in the next few weeks. A truly great biz/marketing concept.)

  • Hey she_spools_180,

Generally, there is a little bit of confusion caused if a customer has a couple of email addresses, or has used a different name to what they normal go by ie; Jennifer and Jenny.
We do our best to track down every customer's purchase when a query comes through.

We've very sorry to hear that you may have not been able to find your purchase, but if you should through your query to [email protected] we'll do our best to try help you find your future purchases.

    Kind Regards,
    Team Scoopon.
