My phone battery in my Sony Xperia Z (C6603). Is no longer lasting a day…

Can anyone recommend a seller of replacement battery's? I know there is heeps of Chinese battery's on ebay, but don't want to install junk into my phone.

sony would be my first thought

  • I've bought plenty of cheapo replacement batteries for phones on ebay.

I try to go with ones that appear to be good quality, have a larger capacity that the original, or claim to be genuine parts manufactured by the company that makes the phone, since they're all so inexpensive anyway.

They've all been great (though I did get one that arrived warped and melted, like the postman put it in a microwave, haha. Just sent the seller a pic and got a quick refund).

  • Slightly off-topic: how long have you been using that phone? I have the exact same phone for some 2 years and I'm somewhat worried I'd get to your status soon (of losing battery charge).

  • Just buy any ebay battery. Replacing is a bit tricky without a hair dryer

I bought one from eBay a while back (Aus seller). Although it said "Sony" and everything, side by side, it had minor differences in the print so I'm not sure if it was a genuine one. Weighed the exact same though. Connected it and it seemed to perform as a new one.

Just a note, be very careful when replacing it. It takes a lot of time to remove all of the factory glue holding the battery, and I became impatient and tried to remove the glue with a bit of force, ruining the display flex cable underneath and rendering the phone completely useless.

Edit: Here's where I bought it from http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Sony-Xperia-Z-L36h-L36i-C6603-C66…

  • Might be cheaper (and easier) to get one of the slim 5000mAh powerbanks that are on sale here every now and then, and keep that handy instead of risking your phone…

  • Xperia Z line does not have removable battery as far as my knowledge goes. (I have used 2 Xperia Z and Z2)…
