Ladies Hairdresser

the mrs. has been to a few ladies hairdressers in the niddrie, airport west, essendon area & complains that even tho she has a good, thick head of hair she never can get it cut how she wants it. she even shows the hairdressers pictures of the style she wants but ends up cheesed off with the effort. seems all the hairdressers cut it how they think it should be done. she isn't hard to get along with as she did have a great hairdresser who unfortunately moved to the east side of melbourne but she doesn't know where. can anyone recommend a ladies hairdresser for the niddrie, airport west, essendon area. it's driving me to distraction.

  • Maybe the style she has photos of is not achievable with her type of hair?

She may need to go to a more expensive hair STYLIST once, to have a consultation with them, as to whether the style she's looking for will suit her hair.

Paying more doesn't necessarily mean better results. I've had some great haircuts years ago at relatively cheap prices and I've paid a higher fee and ended up with the worst hair cut of my life. I think it depends on how good the hairdresser is for you style of hair.

  • thx red-hot but as mentioned she did have a great hairdresser who moved to the east side. she was very happy with her. unfortunately she doesn't know where she works.

I can identify with your mrs, as I have thick unmanageable hair. I am in Perth, for me it was trial and error to find the right hairdresser. Can she call up the old salon as they might know where the old hairdresser has moved to? Ps keep telling her that her hair looks great.

  • thx ChronoSphinx for your comment. unfortunately the old hair salon has closed down as well. one haircut the mrs had made her look like a romulan (from star trek). looked like the hairdresser put a template on her head & cut around it. well i told her this & it's sort of stuck. probably not the time to be brutally honest.

  • Totally sympathise with your wife. I wish I could find a good hairdresser. My hair is not that complicated and if its cut well it sits well and easy to manage. But it doesn't seem to matter what I say I always end up with uneven hair cuts or just plain bad haircuts in more recent times. Even returning to a hairdresser who's done a reasonable job in the past has stuffed it up the next time. Oh and don't rely on online reviews. I went to someone out of my area based on multiple positive reviews and ended up with the worst hair cut of my life. I haven't had my hair cut in a while. I've had to take some time to grow out a bad haircuts. Id like to have another cut but I'm afraid it will look worse so I put it off. Sorry can't help with a name but as I said totally sympathise. She is not alone.
