Best Superannuation for Uni Student Working Part Time Casual Every Now and Then

Looking for super fund for 18yo Uni Student.
Currently working causal part time but will most likely have long periods with no work (ie 3 to 6 months at time) so looking for a fund with reasonable returns that charges no fees so if he end up with a couple of $100 in the account it does not just disappear!

  • Unisuper? They perform pretty well.

    • I'm with Smart Choice but annual fee is $50 plus a 0.5% investment fee. Pretty reasonable if working full time but not so great if you only have a few hundred bucks. Would probably recommend it otherwise! :)

given the casual nature of your work perhaps something like the balanced option at ING Direct Living Super is best. No admin or management fees to eat out of the couple of $100 you may have. If you have a look around here I think there have been some sign up offers as well with some bonus super to top up your account.

  • ING seems to be one of the few with no fees. Not sure on their insurance as they have very little info on the website. Just says cost will vary..

  • Maybe check out Student Super (https://www.studentsuper.com.au/). They have no fees for balances under $1,000 and discounted fees for balances under $5,000.
