Make My Food Processor Better

Can i cut a hole in the side of my food processor bucket……….
IF YOU KNOW RE CUTTING PLASTIC YOU WILL HELP ME LOTS
essentually i use it for slicing a crap load of veges and ideally i would like to make a hole in side of the 3.4l plastic bucket/container so when its full i can slide my hand in and remove the carrot etc……….
I DONT need to keep vege in there when cutting in fact if they came straight out the whole its benifit
the blade/spinning/sharp thing is at the top near where u put in the vege so no risks of getting cut

Soooo… basically… you want to put your hand into the food processor, without disabling the interlocks?

I don't know how well it would work, you'd still need to keep the vegies contained in the container while the food processor is doing it's thing…

Maybe adding a hinged flap would work?

Of course you can do it… whether it's a good idea or not is an entirely different matter.

If it were me, I wouldn't be doing it.

You're so preoccupied with whether or not you could that you didn't stop to think if you should.
    To paraphrase Jurrasic Park :)

  • Heat up a screw driver and punch it into the plastic, it should be able to melt the plastic but note that it is dangerous to put hand into blender.

But you might get bits that are not completely chopped coming out. I know I have to sort through mine and keep bits that need extra chopping in or even just mix it a bit so that the pieces which have not been chopped get down near the blades. All sorts of large and small bits would be flying out everywhere. I personally wouldn't 'improve' my food processor in this manner and it's a machine I use it a lot. Would probably be better to use a stick blender style attachment? I once saw on RPA a lady who had put her hand into the blender before it had stopped spinning and she didn't recommend it. Much better to stop the machine, open it and empty. That's why it's got a safety switch on it.

True. Most likely spit out half chopped veggies as it goes around.

      • not if its a 1000 watt machene

  • just buy one of these

  • You do know that what you are essentially trying to create already exists right? Probably a bit safer to just buy a different machine instead of trying to bypass the safety features of the one you have. They're pretty handy, I use mine a lot.

**Unfortunately the funky music doesn't play automatically when you are slicing and shredding. You have to provide your own.

    • We've got that, they're great :)

      • but they are only 200 watts- wont they do a shitty cut

        • There's a whole heap of different ones out there. I'm sure some will do a better job than others.

I've got a Lumina (Aldi) one that I bought a couple of years ago and it does a great job of grating carrots, cheese etc.

        • Nope, it works fantastic.

Just go buy a unit that does continuous shredding/slicing/grating, it will be safer. Or at least a unit that has a dedicated attachment to do the job. You get the idea here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2KvAq9QtiQ
