Share Market & Trading - Any Courses on this in Perth, WA?

Hi,

Looking to do a course (introductory) on trading shares etc. in Perth, WA. Would prefer classroom based but happy to look at online options too.

Can anyone recommend any?

Thanks

There is ample information online for free, I wouldn't waste time going to a course.

I don't know how much time you have, but the share market is vicious and people who lack knowledge get cleaned up. Especially when they enter the derivatives markets.

    • Thanks GameChanger,

Yes, have been looking online but feel I would learn more in a classroom environment.

      Cheers

Just be careful as many of the courses are essentially scams- well people who have never consistently made profits on the markets. But I totally understand why you want to attend in person, as it can be easier to learn.

Have a read of this book One Good Trade by Mike Bellafiore, to get an insight.

You can also find simulators online, where you don't have to use your money and give it a trial.

Also what type of trading where you thinking of getting into?

        • Thanks for that. Looking at medium to long term. Definitely not looking to do day trading. I would ideally like to build a diversified portfolio across different sectors.

        • @Gerbud: Ah have a read of Warren Buffet! There is also a forum called Hotcopper, I personally don't use as there is lots of lose screws and reliability isn't great.

You don't know anyone who partakes in stock market? I would recommend having a group of 2-4 people, where you can bounce ideas off each other and some what eliminate bias which we can all suffer from.

Personally I would also invest in the US markets as there is more potential for bigger gains, mind you there is currency risk and etc..

          @GameChanger:

          Thanks!

I'll look into all of that :)

        • @Gerbud: Yeah take your time before jumping in and making decisions based on emotion.

I will ask around if anyone I know taken a course, but most people I know have self learned or found someone who plays the game full time and rides off them.

What is your main goal from investing in stock market?

        • @GameChanger:
          Cheers!

Main goal is really to make my money work for me and get a better return than plonking it in a savings account.
