Where to buy Bulk Sausages for Fundraiser

Hello

I am helping organise a fundraiser (Bunnings BBQ) in a couple of months. Last year one of the members was part of the food industry and got all of the sausages donated.
This year I think we have to buy them.
It's on a weekend and apparently in previous years we sell over 600 sausages

Bunning have strict rules. You are not allowed to sell Sausages for anything other than $2.5 and drinks for $1.5 I think. So there is no point in getting gourmet sausages.

Does anyone know the best place to get large quantities of Sausages for fundraisers like this?

Why don't you just call up some local butchers and see what they can do?

  • ask around at your local butchers and places that sell snags and they might hook you up with some discounted ones for a fundraiser

    Tasman

  • I reckon your best bet is to go down to wollies/coles for a few Saturdays around 4pm.

look for markdowns on the cheapo budget sausages, its when meat manager tries to get rid of stuff that's been on the shelf for a few days.

stash in the freezer til day before - they wont taste any different

    defrost & profit.

local butcher wont beat that meat

Depends on the gender I suppose, but you could safely assume the majority are male…

Might be worth asking the Activity Officer at the Bunnings you are having the fundraiser at. They may have some ideas for your local area.

Local butchers. Stuff coles and woolies.

If you call them up and explain what it is for they'll normally be happy to bargain with you.

I've done heaps of Bunnings BBQs.

The member that organised the donation… Are they no longer a member of whatever group you are part of or have they quit their job? Perhaps ask them if while you understand you can't get them all donated again, maybe you can have half donated and buy half or get a special rate?

Best of luck oh and make sure you have enough people on at Bunnings on Saturdays and Sundays. Also someone with a car who can do a woolies or coles run for more bread , cans , sausages , onion etc makes a huge difference to have a 'runner'

Generally, the average folk who go to bunnings to pick up a sausage expect a cheap sausage without having to do the cleanup, as opposed to cooking at home. So really, anything more than a woolies sausage is a bonus. Just get woolies sausages and some fancy bread rolls (around 30 cents each) from a viet bakery

    • Have you been to a bunnings BBQ before?

  • Costco?
