Websites or Forums for Selling Designer Handbag

Hi OzBargainers,

I'm looking for suggestions on where to sell a designer handbag I bought my girlfriend, I bought this on a whim to surprise her a few months ago and although she loves it, she won't use it much and has now decided she would rather sell it and use the money to buy herself a laptop (if we can sell it without losing much).

The bag has been used once and is in perfect condition with all authenticity cards, receipt etc and as far as I know, it's a very popular bag and in quite high demand as it sells out quickly and fairly limited.

I would list it on OzB but I can't until my account is over 1 year old or I've posted a deal over a certain time ago so have to look elsewhere.
I'm considering Gumtree but.. it's Gumtree and a pretty expensive bag, I don't have much feedback on Ebay and I know there will be questions regarding authenticity so would like to deal in person if possible (Melbourne).

I have found a few websites which offer to buy or consign but only offer 50%-70% return which my girlfriend isn't happy with and would rather just keep the bag if we were to lose so much.

Thanks in advance!
Rai

  • What's the brand?

  • Brand, model, price looking for?

  • Love, Hand Bag and Cha Ching. Which one is more important?

  • as it sells out quickly and fairly limited.

    Birkin?

  • Vogue Forums

    • NO WAY. That forum died 10 years ago.

  • Honestly your best bet is selling it yourself to her friend.

    Otherwise
    - Reebonz
    - Ebay
    - Reseller.

Ebay will recoup the most apart from a direct interpersonal sale.
Depending on the bag (feel free to PM me) you will automatically lose value as it's like a car. Once it leaves the store it loses value. Except certain bags.

  • Thanks for the replies and sorry I couldn't get back on sooner.

It is a YSL Monogramme bag and is the exact one in the link below.

I'm not sure how limited the bag is but I was told it sells out quite quickly when available in store.
I will have a look at reebonz as I didn't come across that.

I saw the vogue forums and the most recent related post was from almost a decade ago.

I bought her the bag which she does like but I guess she's more worried about destroying it should she use it and would rather have a new laptop if we can get a good price for the bag.

I did initially think to buy her a laptop but thought she'd like the bag more, I still have a lot to learn!

    • good to learn your GF being practical and save your wallet.

nice handbag, more suitable for special occasion with long dress. your GF is right.
