Is This MacBook Deal Any Good?

Hi guys ,

I wish to buy MacBook Pro 15" for some time now . I have been looking for best possible deals on eBay and other shopping outlets like Officeworks , jb hi fi and good guys . Just came across the following deal .Can you please suggest me if this deal is any good ?

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/291763810208

Also the Kogan sells Mac books .However I have read some not so happy feedbacks about Kogan on eBay . Additionally one of my friends told me that someone he knows bought a Mac book from Kogan and it was running slow . Please advise with your experiences.

Thanks ,

Wait until the new one comes out in 1 month then decide whether or not you will pay the extra $500-$1000 premium for the new one or not.

    Kogan sells grey imported macbooks
While apple have a worldwide warranty on their devices, the device needs to be registered with apple at country of origin.. as in US macbook needs to be registered with US address for warranty etc.

We bought a macbook air from Kogan a year or so ago through similar ebay offer.
had a faulty battery, was an absolute nightmare to get Apple to fix it, as the macbook was regsitered with an Aussie address and they wanted a Singapore address (where it was sourced from) in the end, we bought Apple Care and it solved the issues we were facing

    Just FYI

    • Thanks jimbobaus. That really helps .

  • We bought a Apple computer from Kogan. Faulty on arrival, sent back, Apple put up their prices, Kogan said bad luck, we will not replace it as we won't make any money on it, and are offering a refund instead. Never buying Kogan again.

    • Thanks for sharing your experience Abacus . After wwdc is over and Apple has announced few improvements , it will be worthwhile to wait a bit more and see the impact on existing Mac book pro prices . There have been a few enhancements announced mainly within iCloud and Siri space .
