Dash Cam (G1W-CB) video loop skipping issue

Picked up a G1W-CB from the deal:

Thought it was a great camera until I reviewed a traffic incident.

Despite it being recording and looping ~3mins (followed SteveAndBelle setup instructions as per the above post), I noticed there were up to 5 seconds missing between each 3 minute segment.

Sometimes, the video also loops before the 3 minutes is up, so I have multiple files with 15-20s, and in between them, gaps of 5 up to 30 seconds of missing video…

Has anyone experienced similar problems? If so, any solutions or is it a return for warranty type issue?

    what type of memory card do you have in it?

    I had a recording issue on my VicoVation, turned out to be the microSD card having corrupted or bad sectors after a year of use.
    Plug the microSD card into a card reader and run the h2testw application on it to check if the card is okay.

    If the card is fine, make sure that it is at least Class 10 to read/write quick enough for the dash cam.

    If the 3 minute video itself plays smoothly and you only lose footage between each new file, sounds like a dash cam issue. May be worth upgrading the firmware too if all else fails.
