Accomodation Ryokan at Hakone

Hi

Need some assistance for accommodation at Hakone. We planning to stay 21 Dec - 22 Dec 2016

We are looking for Rooms with private open-air baths if possible with the view of mount Fuji.

Any recommendation?

Thank you in advance.

  • Can't help with the accommodation but I found the open air museum there to be very good.

  • I ended up staying in the Lake Kawaguchiko area at Shuhoukaku Kogetsu (http://www.kogetu.com/). Probably the nicest place I've stayed.
Navigating the Hakone area just ended up being too difficult with my travel timetable and decided instead to stay at Kawaguchiko. I wish you luck on your mission — it's a stunning part of the country/world.

    • at the moment im planning to stay in Hotel Onsenji Yumedono Ryokan Yamanashi in kawaguchiko however, the next day i will be travelling to Osaka

it will take approximately around 5 hours and 30 minutes using JR

that is why i'm think why dont we staying in Hakone (takes 3 hours to osaka)

      • That's fair enough — just so you know — I managed to catch a bus (~1400 Yen) from Tokyo to Kawaguchiko in about 2 hours, then the next day (after a trip to Fuji Q amusement park to ride the World Record holding roller coasters) we bussed to Mishima JR Shinkansen Station (another two hours) and then caught the bullet train to Osaka. Was relatively easy compared to the 5 hour 30 minute trip on the JR train.

Definitely give it a think — because the views of Fuji at Lake Kawaguchi are unrivalled.

      • We are going in March. Was wondering if you ended up staying in a room with a private onsen / open air bath. Can't seem to find any reasonably priced for the time i am there.

  • Somewhat a bit off topic, but if you are into luxury goods, you can visit Gotemba Premium outlet for discounted merchandise. You also have a good view of Mt Fuji from there too.

  • Any suggestions for family onsen with a similar good view? Not accommodation, just for a visit.

  • Thank you for everyone's suggestions.

    • Edit.
