Developer Building Behind My Property (Any benefit to adjacent property?)

I have been searching for properties around my neighborhood and have learnt that a development application has been submitted with my local council for two lots behind my unit block to be demolished and rebuilt as new.
The existing properties are single levels homes. The new property is a proposed basement with 3 levels of residency.

I have attached a picture of my lot (yellow) which backs up against the proposed development (blue): http://i.imgur.com/sJMsLO9.png | http://imgur.com/sJMsLO9

I am not against development as I am in the construction industry. I have found out who the architects are and can contact them. The current fence is old wood palings, which connect to a carport and garage that are on my lot. The old fence is long past its due date.
Is there a way I could work with the architect and developer to get a new fence established between our properties? Does anyone have experience in talking with developers on a similar matter?
Best case scenario is to ensure my body corporate and their development is happy with the fence, but I dont want to push the limits or be cheeky about my approach.

Thanks for the advice.

TLDR: Does anyone have experience approaching a developer or architect to modify a design due to a request from an adjacent property?

Comments

  • I suggest using morse code to communicate with the other party.

  • what is your question?

are you a tenant in yellow land? or owner?

    • I am an owner occupier and chairman of the body corporate (in the yellow land) looking to increase the value of my building by working with the developer.

My question is: does anyone have experience approaching a developer or architect to modify a design due to a request from an adjacent property?
