  • I just ordered the Toshiba Chromebook 2. It's regarded as the best chromebook for the money you spend. I'll be receiving mine any day now. 1080P screen, 4GB ram and this CPU is much quicker than the older/cheaper chromebooks. Seems like it's out of stock for now: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B015806LMM/. It did hit 279USD a week or 2 ago.

    • the screen and RAM are good enough. is the body metallic?. IDK if the 16 GB will be enough.

I'm moving to chrome OS due the new updates coming later this year.

      • Nope, plastic. Dell chromebook 13 has the best build as of now but you're looking at well over $500. Past $500, it's really not that worth it spending money on a chromebook. Performance is pretty much the same though. For under $500, you have to be willing to make some compromises. Main purpose of a chromebook is to be a cheap windows alternative - adding a metal body unnecessarily adds cost to it. Acer chromebook 14 and HP chromebook 13 will be metal though. They'll be out soon

Storage should be plenty unless you want music or movies. If that's the case you can open up the back and replace the ssd with a 128gb if you want. Or use a tiny usb like a Samsung Fit or use an SD card instead and keep it permanently plugged in. I'm going with the USB route. Plus you also get 100gb Google Drive storage for 2 years

  • Make sure to get one that supports android apps. https://chrome.googleblog.com/2016/05/the-google-play-store-…

    • Thanks for the info
