NEW TO GOODDROP + ONLY 30 AVAILABLE!

We have gotten our hands on 30 units of the John Walker & Sons 2015 Private Edition Blended Scotch Whisky; a limited annual release from the renowned Johnnie Walker brand. The first edition was released in 2014 and continuing in this series is the second release of the John Walker & Sons Private Collection, the 2015 Edition. As with the previous edition, only 8,888 bottles were produced.

While the 2014 Edition was a smokey blend, the John Walker & Sons Private Collection 2015 Edition explores the heart of Scotland with a 'rare fruit' blend, giving a light, warm, fruit and spicy flavour with fruits sourced from Speyside, Highland and West Highland. This limited edition blended Scotch whisky was made using 29 specially selected casks.

Nose: Grilled pineapple, apricot and green apple slices. Toffee-drizzled peach and vanilla fudge. A touch of smoke - just a little bit, but it's clearly recognisable.

Palate: Baked apple and pear, fresh vanilla, a hint of sticky caramelised sugar and honey.

Finish: Rather long with stewed fruits and wafts of smoke.

does it come with an inflated sense of self esteem?

      All booze does.

  • With whisky this expensive… there surely should be a way to taste before you buy…

$80-90 buys a quite good single malt. I wonder how many people would be prepared to pay an extra $600 for a bottle??? Is it really that much better?

    • Unlikely be proportionate.

A 700ml red cost ~$3x, a black is ~$4x, Green is ~$9x, blue is ~$1xx and so on.

Whilst the price is in upward exponential, the "better feeling" is likely to have marginal satisfaction.

Not for everyone, but am sure a few out there that can afford it will cherish it.

$80-90 can buy some decent blend as well.

Any one know how good this is with LA cola?

    • +5

      no, no and no!
This can only be had with coke, and make sure that coke if from a glass bottle not plastic or can.
If lieu of coke dry ginger ale.

LA Ice is the perfect mix with this kind of exxy whisky. I usually mix 3 parts of LA Ice Cola with 1 part of any of Islay Whisky and add lots of ice in the glass. It's more economical to mix with LA Ice or any of the Homebrand Cola because a bottle of Coke is around $3-4 so it's not worth it.

      • each to their own i guess though i have standards. only coke for me.

  • your price on jack daniels single barrel is pretty damn good
    - might even be worth a post unto itself

    :P

  • …only 8,888 bottles were produced

how many ozbargainers will buy…. hmmm, well none I guess with $688 tag price

    • Have a look on the Dan Murphy site, quite a few $20K+ bottles there. Most expensive I saw (not available anymore) was a $200K Johnnie Walker Diamond Jubilee
