Might as well be 100% off and still not a good deal with these guys

agree, tbh it the deal doesnt deserve a pos vote bc they are so over priced.

      • So where is the best place to buy genuine Oakleys etc? I bought a pair from these guys a few years back but got ripped off because I didn't know better

        • it was a while back when i was looking for some, but stores in America and eBay (be careful though with fakes). Ended up getting a different brand from a small store.

  • so just buy two and return one on a later date? or i read terms wrong :S

  • Yeah and BS baffles brains

The prices at Sunglass Hut are usually no better than RRP but with this discount and the fact that it applies to Oakley and Ray-Ban's, which are rarely discounted anywhere, this is a good deal.

    • Yeah thats pretty subjective considering the true value but anyways.

      • not sure what u and davo mean, but rayban lenses protect the eyes better than other brands, and as said, ray bans are hardly discounted.

        great saving

    • Indeed Oakleys are rarely discounted in other stores and if they are its not much below the retail price. Excellent find.

      • Oh no! too bad. I've just bought a pair of Oakley before I saw this one. I did have 15% off for Medibank Private member, but 30% off is certainly much much better. Do you think it's ok to bring the receipt back to them & ask for the discount?

  • Last time this was on I got a couple of pairs of RBs - for my better half & myself. One pair came down to about as low as you can find on the net, & the other well below, so overall it was a good deal. If you choose the right pair & shop around to check out what you can get them for elsewhere, this can be a very good deal - especially given the damage guarantee thing they offer - break them & buy another pair at half RRP (IIRC?).

  • its a great deal on oakleys which never have discounts (rarely)
prices online are simialr to those after discounts

i.e. juliets around 450-500 at SGH
    40% off
    270-300
web has aroudn that price (ebay)

    • If you're in Brisbane, check out the Oakley outlet store at DFO (near the airport). Prices are cheaper and they occasionally have very good bargains. $10 shorts, $10 boardies, $60 prescription frames.. etc.

  • Hmmm I dont really neeeeeeeeeeeed new sunglasses, but…

  • Voting + because at least buying from SGH you aren't getting counterfeits. That's the main problem with eBay. Sunglasses are one of the few items I will pay more for in order to make sure I am getting the real deal. Plus SGH have a really nice range and generally pretty good service. Good quality, classic and well chosen sunglasses will last forever making them a bargain in my book even if they do seem expensive at first.

  • I know it sounds wanky, but brand names do make a difference. My wife bought these $20 sunnies on a trip to Malaysia, and they got scratched and practically fell apart after one year. Yes, she's a bit careless and clumsy, so it's sorta her fault.

However, last year she bought a pair of brand name sunnies on our HK trip, around $200. So far she has dropped them several times, and they still look like new. True, you could buy 10 pairs with the same money, but I'm a firm believer in good design and quality.

  • With this discount, it's cheaper than the $50 off voucher I used last month on my Oakleys.

  • SGH is generally a ripoff for me interms of oakleys. I remember looking at the XSquares that were going for like 650. Found it on ebay for an average of 400-500 from reputable dealers. It sucks when prices in SGH are generally RRP.

    • Yeah but that's in terms of RRP right - so with the discount voucher it'd be less than those online retailers.

Good deal to me - going to buy some Ray Bans.

  • Also just noticed - if anyone is going o/s soon, it's available for the Sunglass Huts in NZ, South Africa, HK and Singapore as well!

I remember HK prices were definitely cheaper (still RRP, but cheaper), so this would have been useful back then, dammit.

Just came back from Penrith Sunglass Hut was only going to get one pair but the 40% offer was too good to pass up. End up buying one for my mum for mothers day and one for myself for a fishing pair.

Ralph Lauren $149 down to $89.40
Oakley 'Five' $234.95 down to $140.97

    Saving of $153.58!

To bad I cant do a double+ man I love this site!

  • COOL BANANAS! I wonder if I can get the discount on prescription orders also (Any reps out there that can confirm?), I 'll definately ask. I am wanting the new straightjacket model ($610.00 with polarized presc. lenses).

    • I think you'll get discount on the sunglasses but not on add-on for prescription lenses. It's like buying the sunnies from Sunglass Hut and taking it to OPSM to get them make you prescription lenses to fit.

  • Went to highpoint S.C. sunglass hut, and they said I was not able to use on Oakleys? even though the voucher clearly says 'Voucher is not redeemable on Chanel, Tiffany & Co." ONLY! Also VERY rude about it, Anyway I'll just try another store, hopefully with shop attendants with manners!

  • What an awful experience, ozf1! I went today and forgot to print out the voucher, I mentioned it after I agreed to purchase a pair of Ray Bans though and the guy put it through with no hassles whatsoever. I don't want to disclose the exact location just in case because I don't want to get him in trouble, but it was within the Sydney CBD. He was also really helpful, knew what type of frame would suit my boyfriend as he had a tiny nose bridge.
