PayPal Extends Buyer Protection

We’re updating our legal agreements.
On 15 July 2016, we’ll be updating our User Agreement, Combined Financial Services Guide and Product Disclosure Statement, and Buyer Protection Policy.

Enhancements to the business account:
Buyer Protection now protects eligible hand delivered items and the things you pick up in person that are significantly different to how they were described. This includes items you buy on Gumtree.

Eligible partial payments are now protected, so you can be confident when paying a deposit or other instalment with PayPal.

Never take PayPal for Gumtree. Cash only. Sooo much easier.

  • So I guess the Gumtree scammers will only accept Western Union then? I hope so.

Paypal is a liability if your the seller. Buyer puts in a complaint and 99% going to get (your) money back to them. So biased!

  • In other words. DO NOT ACCEPT PAYPAL WHATSOEVER FOR GUMTREE PICKUP SALES.

    YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

    • 100%. whats stopping scammers saying they never got it? At least with eBay a tracking number fixes that issue
