Escrow Assistant - Scam?

So recently I've received an email for a job offer (they mentioned they saw my Seek profile) as an Escrow Assistant from a financial group based in NZ. I've googled the company and the company has a website and seems quite legit and professional. I have also searched their business number on the NZGov website and all the information match up.

However, my concern is that it sounds a little too good to be true. The details of the job:

  2. Send and receive instructions in a timely manner
  3. Process transfers according to the instructions
  4. Send follow-up reports to the supervisor
  5. Provide feedback on areas of improvement on a monthly basis

Salary & Benefits

  1. Basic monthly salary: 4XXX AUD
  2. Commission: 5% of each transaction paid immediately after processing a transfer (Normally processed amounts vary from 2,000 to 10,000 AUD, but might be larger on special occasions).

  2. Age 18 +
  3. Good user ability to operate computer and email
  4. Full-time access to email and phone

  6. Good communication skills
  7. Availability (1-4 hours per day between 9 am and 6 pm)
  8. Eagerness to work distantly
  9. Open-minded.

I emailed them back to get more information on the process and here is what I got:

  1. A buyer from your country submits a transfer request to us.
  2. We provide him with an escrow agent's bank account details for the payment.
  3. The buyer transfers the payment via his (her) bank account and notifies us.
  4. We inform you by phone and email that the payment is made. And send you an email with the transfer information and a seller's details (e.g. Amount is XXXX AUD. You should send it to the buyer (name surname) by (specific time) via bank transfer (if it's a domestic transfer) or Western Union / Money Gram (if it's international).
  5. a. (domestic transfer) you withhold a 5% commission and transfer the remaining amount online and then send us a receipt.
    b. (international transfer) You go to the bank and withdraw the funds. Take a 5% commission from the total amount and send the remaining amount via Western Union or Money Gram to the seller You send the transfer receipt to us by email.

Does this sound too good to be true? Can anyone spot anything fishy? I am particularly concerned as it requires me to used my personal account for the transactions.

Thanks a lot guys!
