Boost Mobile $40 Plan + Bonus 5GB Data on a $2 Sim?

Boost mobile have a great deal at the moment on the $40 plan with a bonus 5GB of data. I recently got a $2 sim because I was going to move across to them anyway.

Does anyone know if I activate my $2 sim on a $40 plan if I will get the bonus data or would I specifically need to go buy a $40 sim?

Has anyone out there activated from a $2 sim and received the bonus data?

    Not sure if you've seen the T&C's which state:

    To get you started, score 5GB Extra Stnd Data when you activate a new service on a $40 Boost pre-paid SIM.

    But as we know on OzB T&C's stated aren't always what's actually implemented so you might get lucky.

    I reached out to them directly - probably should have done that first!!. You do need to $40 sim. The online chat help was pretty helpful and the number got ported across in just over a day. Reception and speed are fine.
