Yea.. what was the point of asking that? Point-less.

wish they would run one of these specials on J awards…

  • Damn it. Booked a flight for full points for this Sunday last night. Did the reduced points offer only start today?

  • This helped. Thanks.

Yes J to USA would be nice but long haul charges and fees by Qantas are very hefty and finding seats near impossible.

    • was reading somehwere to fly with AA but use your points on on the qantas website there fees are not as much as qantas they dont charge certain fees and taxes that Qantas do

  • +1

Booking AA (if you can find award flights) via Qantas site still pay the high fees, VA is less than half the fees.

  • I always book CX (Cathay) rewards in J if I can. The taxes are about 20% of QF's. Plus good availability to Hong Kong and onwards. The number of miles needed for redemption is better via AsiaMiles (e.g. 45,000 ADL-HKG, vs 65,000 Qantas points for the same route), but still a good use of QF points…

  • A budget 1 way Brisbane to Sydney is around $70, so 6,800 points plus $36.87 = $70
    so 100pts=48c?

I put a perth to goldcoast flight form 26 to 29 Aug and it still showed as 28,800 points. There seems to be no 15% discount. Is there something i should be keying in or doing?

  • Qantas points are ridiculously hard to get value from in my opinion. I hope Virgin points never become as bad value as Qantas.

    • virgin flight cancellation woes are there for you to enjoy your points with
