Anyone have any issues using Ewish cards to buy Xbox Subscription cards or iTunes cards??

Hey,
Has anyone had any issues buying large amounts of Itunes cards or Gaming subscription cards with a store gift card or eGift card?

I used to work at dicksmith and the policies changed quite a bit. My manager wouldnt care when someone bought all the itunes gift cards with DSE giftcards. I know some managers didn't like it and even told the people they can only have a maximum limit. Funny thing was the POS allowed you to use a gift card to buy a gift card (of any sort, even BWS) for AGES. Then they fixed it but added ALL types of ePAY cards to that banlist (so you couldn't use a giftcard to even activate a copy of Microsoft365 for example).

Ahh but i still miss working there….Anyway, anyone have experience with this recently?
In particular. BigW.

  • Big-W is especially strict with not allowing this.

Woolworths in my experience don't care.

  • Even for gaming Subscription Cards?

  • At this stage, it's fine to purchase Blackhawk cards with egift cards at Big W. There are some POS changes coming later this year that might change this, but for the time being, it's fine.

    • Ah ok, do you work at BigW??
i know blackhawk provide a large amount of giftcards, but im quite positive they don't deal with the gaming subscription cards? Correct me if I'm wrong?

      • Pretty much all of the prepaid gift cards you see floating around are a part of the Blackhawk Network, gaming subscriptions included. They even deal with MS software licensing now, too.

There's been a bit of misunderstanding at some stores about what you can/cannot purchase with an eGift card. There are restrictions when purchasing Wish Cards (which is stated on the Wish Card T&Cs) but none with the regular Blachawk Network cards.

        • I see. Thanks for the insight.
I really hope that all the managers/workers are aware of this. I remember hearing stories when i was at Dicksmith about some managers just flat out refusing to let people use gift cards to buy itunes cards. Then after like 2-3weeks of no one knowing the actual policy, they released a comms which stated people can purchase consumer amounts. I don't think they ever stated a maximum number though so it was still pretty dumb.
