Best Home + Contents Insurance if Subletting a Room in House ?

Hi All

Curious to know what home and contents insurance options someone has if they sub let a room in the house (via AirBNB or Gumtree and the likes). I presume the normal insurance would not cover the property in such instances.

    Try Youi,their policy will cover your situation. You will get home and contents for main home and landlord's for the sublet part, all under one umbrella(policy) .

    To inform everyone, AAMI mentioned that they would cover Home and contents insurance if you sublet upto 2 rooms in your house. However, they would not cover third party liability insurance (in case your tenant injures self and takes you to court). Better to get a contract signed to cover that before the tenancy begins.
