  Got two for the kids last sale. Good quality, lights are fairly discreet. Only negatives - they don't fold like some, and the handle is not very tall so might want to check if they will suit your kid(s).

    Handle can be raised a bit around 2" or so. Think folding ones are probably not that durable. This one is lightweight with solid frame and can last for a good few years easy, IMHO.

      Would the handle be too small for an 8-year-old boy (typical height for age)?

        Should be fine. My ten year olds who are fairly tall for their age are fine with them.

      Quality of folding ones can vary…. And frankly our old ones that could fold rarely did so lack of that didn't worry me. Mainly noting it in case it was important for anyone. And yes, agree they seem pretty solid.
