Cheapest Phone Available with NFC

(1) What is the cheapest phone available (new/refurbished, local/imported) that meets the minimum requirements for Android Pay (4.4+, not rooted or custom, and with NFC)?

(2) Same as above, but with 4G Band 28 supported?

  • The Nexus 5x (H791 model) is one of the cheaper (but not cheapest) phones that ticks both boxes.

    • Thanks. At the moment it seems "best value" is the only viable option for now.

    • Great link. Thanks for that.

It appears a lot of the cheaper models only have NFC as "optional" and we don't seem to get it in Australia by default. It seems the only choice is to spend over $100 on a phone to have Android Pay and full 4g support in Australia.

  • Samsung Galaxy Core Prime on prepaid has both NFC and Band 28.

  • If you're using the Optus network the Optus website has a Sony Xperia M4 Aqua for $229.
