  Yeh made the mistake of not buying steam version before. Good luck trying to download the game from Rockstar server. Their server keeps dropping out.

  There's no real benefit of having the steam version. Just add the game to the library as a non steam game.

    Yes there is. Steam download server is not hosted on a 56k modem like Rockstar.

      I downloaded 64gb from rockstar on the weekend in 7 hours. Was pretty happy with that.

        You're lucky then. Got mine last year and took me about a week to get the whole thing. Kept failling and the downloader had to be restarted constantly. Perhaps they've fixed some of the issue. But seems like people are still having problems.

        @ryolo: No, my download speed is all over the place. I don't mind waiting though, saved a bunch over the steam version.

        I did experience one fail after about 20gb. I was just grateful after restarting download that it recommenced where it failed. Phew.

  I got a GTAV social club key yesterday and the game seems to be downloading fine.

    I can't even download the GTAV_Setup_Tool.exe to start the game download! It gets stuck at around 750KB of 177MB :(

      Had to use a VPN (tunnelbear) to Brazil in order to download the installer.

    Just a little update - it slowwwwwed down alot but eventually got there. I played it last night for the first time ever - yes, I had never played GTA5 before. Excellent so far. My friends have Steam copies but I've added them on Social Club and they've accepted so I don't anticipate any problems with finding them for multiplayer.
