Well I come across it and thought I would pass on if someone can use :)
50% off RRP of a product which usually sells at or near RRP = good
50% off RRP/rack rate for a product who's RRP varies greatly from day to day and week to week, and which no-one ever pays near RRP for = bad
I literally get emails everyday from Expedia/Hotels.com/Travelocity etc offering me "up to 50% off hotels", with the problem being it is off rack-rate at a particular hotel on (likely) a particular night or weekend. It is just click bait IMO.
They have Global 48 Hour Sales every 48 hours it seems, usually still the same prices as other booking sites.
If you're subscribed to their emails they recently sent out an 8% off coupon.
