Help - How to Recover iPhone Data after Restore without Backup

Hi Guys

Need your tech support here!

I was in the process of updating my iphone 4s through iTunes, but for some reason it wont allow me to update the phone, instead it only gives me the option to Restore!

The phone is not backed up through iTunes or icloud at all. I am very concerned of losing hundreds of photos and videos of my kids.

Please help and suggest if there is any way I can recover all this data. I called Apple, and off course did not get any useful way out from them.

    Book a visit to the 'genius' bar, take it to them, you can stuff around with different things but you should go to them. that's why you paid for an overpriced smart phone.

    Why would you not backup if you have stuff you care about? If it's a security concern you can always do a local backup to your own PC and encrypt it.

    Also, it is possible that for the photos specifically, they might be in your Photo Stream? It stores something like your most recent 1000 photos if it's turned on.

    Because the lesson needs to be learned once! If the OP is reasonable and rational it will never happen again.

    Have iTunes installed but don't run it.

    Go in file explorer and explore the Apple device and you will see the camera roll and jaut copy and paste…. Simples.

    Hi Guys
    Sorry for the late response.
    Thanks fot all your suggestions. I eventually took my phone to the 'genius bar' and got it fixed in no time!
    The problem was with my laptop's USB ports, and hence it stalled half way through.
    And YES I have learnt my lesson and backed up all the data and pics :)
