  • I don't see why it's not. You're able to exchange it for another one if it stops working within 3 months of purchase..

    Are these worth buying?

If you like the security of buying things from a known company (as opposed to people from Gumtree, Facebook, etc.), then there is no other choice - since EB is the only big chain of (local) stores that is convenient to access to, deal with, buy/sell from and, of course, stock the Wii.

    So short answer, yes.

Will there be any issues with these kind of consoles??

Possible, but slightly unlikely. When I had my first Wii console (way back in ~2008), the disc laser went kaput, yet the rest of the console worked fine. It is VERY easy to modify the console to run Homebrew software and backed-up games, etc. and nearly none of these use the disc drive at all. So, even if you do get a borked disc drive (like mine), it's not the end of the world.

Like I said above, the security with shopping with a big chain of stores like EB is that they will swap over another console if it does go kaput. Though I am not sure of their efforts of cleaning/repairing a traded-in Wii before it gets sold again.

That said, if you're game enough, I suggest buying a console off Gumtree/Facebook. Many are selling their consoles that are on par or cheaper than EB's price, often with extra games/controllers/rubbish included. The downside is that it's private buying/selling and if you do get a botched console, you're on your own.

  • With all preowned consoles from EB Games there is a higher risk of hardware failure. I often see posts on EB's Facebook from people claiming their preowned console stopped working shortly after they bought it.
I don't think the Wii deteriorates as much as the other consoles from it's generation but it does have issues.

  • I bought my wii second hand from eb games a few years back and it was fine.

Few scratches here and there but that's to be expected.

If you have any troubles with it they have that three month guarantee, so you should be right to get a replacement.
