Best Van To Gain Courier Work In Sydney

Hi there,
I am newbie to this Website…

First of all thanks everyone whoever will give me advice on courier work… Coz I have not spoken to any courier company in detail for courier work but 2 companies has told me that, first get a Van then contact any courier company.
So obviously i need advice on Which van to choose from either Toyota Hiace or Hyundai iLoad?

Also if someone is aware of inside out of any courier work and can give advice that will be appreciated.

Cheers
:)

  • I hear people rave on about the new Chinese LDV vans, as they carry a full standard pallet. This also allows you to get more jobs.

    • the new Chinese LDV vans, as they carry a full standard pallet

a standard pallet is 1165mm. both the hiace and the iload can take this.

      • Nice thanks for your info.

  • +1

If you're looking for courier work and can get your own van and insurance I can recommend Toll Fast.
They are always looking for drivers.

    • Nice but they might ask some sort of any experience…. Or not. Coz i am new to this industry. Any idea how much they pay…. Help will be appreciated.

  • Not sure about which is better for work but reliability wise the hiace is the best you can get

  • my brother is a courier… It's all about finance, lease and turning it over every year… Yep, unless you buy new you won't make it, you'll last as long as it takes for the invoice from the first minor break-down.
He has been renting one of his boss's two-year old vans. Next year he hopes to lease a new one to get him an extra 40 cents per delivery…

    • This^^^

You're better off finding someone who is a courier and tagging along with them to find out all the ins and outs.

If you're going in as a noob you're up against people who've been doing this for decades and you're not going to be able to compete.

      • Depends if you know the despatches :P
