Telstra Usage Bug (Free Data for Affected Broadband/Cable Users)

Moved to Forum: Original Link

Seems Telstra is having issues with its Broadband meter and is not counting any downloads.

Came across it when I was wondering how my usage was going for the last few days and I noticed that the usage meter was always showing any usage.

Chat support confirmed and linked me to the forum post which confirms that users with the effected usage meter are effetely getting quota free usage for broadband customers.

Based on the post its been an issue for some users for awhile but not sure who regularly checks their usage,

  • We've been having no end of problems with the Telstra usage meters on our two pre-paid data pass accounts, but disappointingly no free data, as every few days (once it was 11 day period earlier this month) a combined data usage is shown for the whole period, though the remaining data total seems to keep pace. Why a company like Telstra can't show usage for each day every days has got me, it's hardly cutting edge technology for a tech company surely.

  • Shame they know about it, I've had unlimited data for months and I'm loving it

  • Why the hell would you go and ask support when something like that is not working, and its obviously in your favour…

    • Telstra staff are very incompetent, even if you explain it to them they still won't understand and won't fix it. There has been plenty of great glitches to exploit but they don't bother fixing them until it gets posted on ozbargain and people go all out.

  • It's been down for a few months now. Hopefully they don't fix it anytime soon and we can all enjoy the unlimited downloads a while longer.
