Fan Heater with Timer Setting?

Hi all,

A few years ago I owned a couple of the small fan heaters for heating small rooms (bedrooms etc) with on/off timer function (the little dial with the clips you move to on or off position). They worked great as they allowed the rooms to be heated in 15 minute blocks throughout the night whenever you set it instead of having to leave the heater on all night or go without.

I've been having a hard time finding anything similar in store or online, and beginning to wonder if perhaps they don't make them anymore? The ones I had were about $25 and only small but efficient for the purpose. Anyone seen anything like this anywhere? I've found a couple of oil heaters with this function but I found the little fan heaters worked best for these sized rooms.

Thanks in advance!

  • Why not just buy a digital programmable timer? They are like $15 from eBay or Bunnings.

    • Smart thinking, hadn't considered that! Do they run OK off powerboards do you know (ie work correctly and not too bulky) as there are other things connected to the powerboard that need to stay powered and still fit, so I would have to run the timer off the board.

        You can buy slim ones.

        2-pack for $32 dollars

        2-pack analogue for $20 dollars

I have a much older, fatter one that I use also for an oil heater. It works fine on a powerboard (my powerboard however is a HPM one that is longer to accomodate fat plugs)

        • Can't seem to open the links or search for the products, perhaps only available in some stores? Any chance of providing the product code/model number for the HPM slim dual so I can look elsewhere? Cheers!

        • @glenb83:
          it's called D817SLIM

Can also search for the SKU code. Plug this number into the search box in Bunnings. 4420345

        • @scrimshaw:
After not being able to view the link online or search by SKU, I went into the local Bunnings and Masters tonight and found the 24hour timer section of both stores empty and was advised by both that there is a national recall due to a new Australian Government certification needing to be printed on the devices…

I've also been looking for a simple fan heater with timer! Rather not use a separate timer.
