Qantas FF points redemption - lounge access

Hi,

Got a fair few QFF points to burn mainly just through spending and occasional travel. I have silver status with Qantas this year.

Anyway found some reward flights to go Melbourne to Singapore in first class operated by Emirates.

I have actually never redeemed qff points before so excuse the stupid question.

Will I be given any lounge access for my flights, booked in First class but through the rewards flight system? Especially Emirates lounges each way?

Thanks for any help.

If you are on an Emirates-operated First ticket (regardless of award or retail) then yes, you will by default have access to Qantas and Emirates First Class (and Business Class) lounges on the day of the flights. Both Melbourne and Singapore have great lounges.

Also, don't forget you can book Emirates complimentary chauffeur transfer service for both ends of your flight. As you're in First you'll probably get a slightly nicer car than usual ;)

  • Yes, you will have access to Qantas and Emirates lounges, including the excellent Melbourne Qantas First lounge, and experience you shouldn't miss (be sure to arrive early so that you can enjoy a spa treatment and an amazing a la carte meal / wines!). The Melbourne Emirates lounge is nice, but not quite up to Melbourne First lounge standard.

Unfortunately, you will not be eligible for chauffeur service, however. Emirates axed these services for award flight bookings to Asia early last year. See: http://www.ausbt.com.au/emirates-axes-chauffeur-drive-on-qan…

That link actually confirms that the OP will have chauffeur service since award flights have an EK code.

  • Thanks all! can't wait.

  • Did you book Emirates Chauffeur? How did you do it? Normally done online when booking with Emirates directly, or also can ring Emirates.
