Was looking into this phone after reading some great reviews on XDA and elsewhere as the "Anti-Oneplus 2/3":
http://www.xda-developers.com/sponsored-umi-super-battery-re…

Speaks for itself.. decided to do some shopping and noticed AlliedExpress (one of their main distributors) has a USD$40 discount on this bringing the price to USD$180.

Todays exchange rate checks brings this phone to AUD$243 + Delivery

Also just checked with Cashrewards 7.25% Cashback for ALliedExpress… brings the phone down to AUD$226 + Delivery

  • This looks decent…

That article from XDA is sponsored content. It's not exactly unbiased information.

the xda review has sponsored plastered everywhere. im really doubting the 9 hours SOT with heavy usage(i would think you need like a 8000mah to get that far)

not to rain on this deal but this is normal price for this phone, couple of downfalls with itself check youtube reviews for real opinions

for the money id spend elsewhere.

    • i just checked the screenshot in the review better, he had no network on so no sim card in, if anything, 9 hrs SoT with wifi only which is slightly more believable maybe with brightness all the way down.

Chris says it's not so super, I'll stick with the Redmi Note 3 bc SD650>P10 :)

  • Is it really that bad for the price? I need to replace my Galaxy Note 3 N9005…

    • Do you know the other Chinese phones for competition?
Lots of variables, chipset, screen quality, battery life, 3g/4g channels…
If you want to get something cheap today, I see the Google Nexus 5x is <$400 for the US model, can provide a link, you would need to confirm if the channels are correct, otherwise Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro for $270 or less seems to be the going rate…

  • Hhmmm…

    GSM: 850(B5)/900(B8)/1800(B3)/1900(B2)
    WCDMA: 850(B5)/900(B8)/1900(B2)/2100(B1)
    LTE FDD: 2100(B1)/1800(B3)/2600(B7)/800(B20)

    So no deal I guess…

  • I don't have experience with UMI, but mediatek processors aren't develepor friendly apparently, so won't be many custom roms. Would rather go for a Xiaomi phone. Redmi note 3 pro specials that have been popping up regularly go for around this price.

    • thats wrong, K3 note has mediatek processor and just go search up how many god damn roms there are for that phone, especially on needroms and xda

      • yeh k3 note is one of the odd ones out, it has so many roms and for that reason alone its a great buy

  • Processor is not as good as seen in previous Chinese phone deals, the MediaTek Helio X20 / X25 is what you want

  • Does anyone know of any good generic phones less than 5.2" display with dual sim (support 700/1800 band) and min 3gb ram?

  • I will never use any phones with MediaTek processor.

    • Why?

      • very disappointed in overall.

Now i'm happy with my snapdragon.

        • Snapdragon sounds dope. Helio is pretty cool though …

Based on this alone it's gunna be a tough call.
