Geekbuying V3 All In One VR Headset, Allwinner H8VR Octa Core 2.0GHz, 2G/16G, WIFI+BT, 5.5 Inches 1080P FHD Display.....

Just a quick rant about this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/252021

After a Quick fire up!

Atrocious device.

PROS: Nothing so far!

CONS:

  • Some Dead pixels
  • Lens fog up at the start.
  • Can't adjust lens. Its clearer if I slightly pull the goggles out.
  • The experience is like watching from a 90's Rear Projection screen with a magnifying glass.
  • Another angle is kinda like watching from a 3D mode in your tv without wearing the 3d glasses
  • pixel size can be best described as somebody had put a very fine "mosquito net"
  • GUI & apps are atrocious and super basic
  • Not your normal android access to apps. You'll have to load your own .apk. Havent tried.
  • Eye fatiguing with only minutes of use.

This is the most expensive trash I've ever owned! I wouldn't even buy this crap if it was $20!!!!!!!!!!

ie. thats with approx an hr of play. Stopped as my eyes are so fatigued!

Don't buy this crap! Even the google cardboard is miles ahead of this junk!

  • What's your order number? I'll speak to GB about it.

      • Thanks. I'll let you know when I hear back.

  • This one is never going to be resolved. The item is lost thru the POST and I've lost $130AUD!

    Take a good note -
Never buy this VR headset. It simply is the dodgiest piece of technology that is not very functional, absolutely not user friendly but above all the led screen is appallingly yesteryear technology (large pixels and you can clearly see the rgb separation - something like watching really close from a 1996 rear projection screen or even the early LCD 3d tvs enabled without wearing the 3d glasses that comes with it). You will 100% get eye strain (even gives you a warning disclaimer in a booklet that it may give you headaches).

Get the Smartphone carrier headset as it is MILES better display than what you will get from this Geekbuying VR.

Edit: the thing that really annoys me, geekbuying tells you to take the cheapest form of Postage return and under declare the item and label it as a gift to avoid taxes in china. return Postage cost me $34aud and thats without insurance. Insurance I think was $10-15 extra. But if you only declare the item say.. $30 thats all you will get if the item gets lost. The only small consolation is that GB refunded me the postage! Can't help me with lost packages! so still a loss of $130AUD.
