190

Not sure whether this is new or not, though it only costs $10.99 per month to sign up to Dropbox Pro when selecting the Google Play payment method in the Android app, opposed to $13.99 per month via the Dropbox website.

      Yep, just used Bill to Telstra. :)

    For those who don't need the pro.. but want permanent 18gb (which is plenty for me for just photos)…

    • How does this work? Not seen this before.
      Says GIG is paused?

        Dropbox referral is banned on Fiverr…

        Try this one instead. https://www.fiverr.com/apps_promoter/send-you-32-friend-refe…

        You log in to dropbox, get your referral link, include the link with your order and they will create 32 new accounts using your referral link. You could do it yourself if you have 32 email addresses and time.

        • That one was a scam unfortunately.
          Didn't deliver.

        • @harpie: Bugger - hope you got a refund. :(

        • @BaryGusey:

          Apparently a 3 day window only when marked completed so missed it.

          Only 5 bucks though. $5 worth of Irony is pretty cheap ;-}

          @harpie:

          Left a negative comment, he came back apologised and delivered so all good in the end.

        • @harpie: Yay for you and your fancy 18 gigs of cloud storage! :)

    So far I have found Google Play Music, Dropbox Pro and LastPass to spend the Telstra Recharges on so far, in addition to normal apps. Anyone else found any good subscription services via Google Play Billing?

    • There's a bunch of VPNs if that appeals. Some more suggestions here:

      Netflix ;)

      • I tried netflix, apparently has to be a new account and even then doesn't always work?

      Add Office 365 to the list!

      Just recently started using Bill to Telstra for Netflix, currently checking out LastPass.

      • hey how do you get office 365 with billing to telstra??

        • It is an in-app purchase in the Word app.

  • This isn't new, I've been paying this much for a year or so using Google Play.

  • This is the price I'm paying through the website…

    • I presume that you subscribed a while ago? It was $10.99 through the website in 2014, not sure when they put the price up.

      • That would explain it then, I've been subscribed since 2012 or so.

      • Was going to say the same as gilbarc; I'm paying $109/year + $49/year for unlimited file history. They yearly price is now $139/year so a ~22% price increase which is very steep. They've also watered down their business plans by creating tiers and removing features.

    Can't see the need for dropbox pro personally, seems like money for nothing, but each to their own

    • Right now I have over 300 GB stored in my Dropbox, there aren't really any free services that will accommodate that.

    • Can't live without it in the Web / Graphic Design industry, as people are constantly wanting to share Dropbox folders with you, which counts towards your account storage.

      I have 1.3TB OneDrive storage (mainly due to Office 365),completely hopeless in comparison to Dropbox, and makes you realise just how good Dropbox is.

        Double counting? Sickening practice they have. In an ideal world you wouldn't support anyone willing to price like that.

  • I wish Dropbox had a 100GB plan like Google drive, happy to pay 2$ per month for it.
