Hi. When you enter a keyword into the "Search competitions" box for the first time, the search results are different to those for the second and subsequent search using the same keyword.

Ok, so the Comps specific search turns into a general search after the first search. That's where I came off the rails. I was clearing the search box (including type:competition) and typing in a new term. Thanks for taking the time to explain.

I couldn't see any difference between the first and subsequent searches when using the competitions box located here within the competition section.
That form is just a redirect to the main search function that you see on the top right of the screen, all I believe it is doing is adding type:competition to your search term. For example if you search for food in the competition search box then the search term is "food type:competition", you should get the same result / search term if you search for 'food' in the main search box and choose 'competition' from the type menu.
When you are searching for the second time, ensure you aren't removing type:competition from the search term, otherwise it will search everything and you'll have to select 'competitions' from the drop down menu, so the url should be https://www.ozbargain.com.au/search/node/food?t=o (searching competitions only) and not https://www.ozbargain.com.au/search/node/food (searching everything deals, forum, comps etc) after you search.
If you are still getting different results and definitely searching in comps, some screenshots would be great so we can see the difference and the URL etc.
