Tempting a Queenslander to support the 👤Blues👤, with your demonic discounts…
Some good savings. Would pay for membership fee quickly, but is selling my soul to Southerners worth it?
Be gone with you Bluelzebub 👿!

    • +2

you know you want to. Inside every canetoad heart is pulsing blue blood.

      • +1

Not this Queenslander. I'm cane toad all the way through.

I've been inside a cane toad - the small car sized State of Origin one on wheels from years ago. Used it in my undergrad seminar presentation on the spread of those bufo marinus, with a demonstration of how far bufo toxin can squirt. Topped my presentation with the help of cane toads. I hate cockroaches ;-)

        • Just wait til the nuclear armageddon, sunshine. We'll be still here afterwards.

        • +1

          @3 Hyenas:
So will a lot of creatures. That cockroaches will rule the world story was just a myth to upset people who find them repulsive, & that's a fair bit of the Western world.

Now as for the fascinating Hyenas… got to love females that are so well hung… even giving birth through those pseudopenises!

Its bloody hard to kill a cane toad, but cockroaches squish nice & easy ;-)

        • It's!

That's the Queensland edumacation system for you.

        • +1

          @3 Hyenas:
Just wait til the nuclear armageddon, sunshine. There will be no need for apostrophes afterwards and those using bold to highlight the mistakes breaches of the prevailing norms of the time of others will be long gone ;-)

🆓 Pimms at local Westfield beckons.

        • Pauline called, she said thanks for your support.

        • +1

          @3 Hyenas:
          Please explain?

Ah, enjoyed the 🆓 Pimms & 🆓 pizza 🍕 on a lovely night up here.
          Have fun in Canberra ❄⛄⛄❄

        • I'm glad you've finally got some nicer weather up there now that it's winter. Hopefully everyone's perpetual sunburn is starting to calm down after the blazing hell on earth that is summer in queensland. Remember to condition your red leather skin to prolong it's lifespan.

        • +1

          @3 Hyenas:
Sad what the cold does to human thought processes😵
On an Tasmanian mountain, I organised a helicopter medivac for a young woman I suspected of having late stage hypothermia. It was the irrational thought processes from the prolonged exposure to the cold that gave it away.
          💥Stay warm💥

          There's a reason we're coloured maroon👙 up here & you're blue 👤 - it's the weather ;-)

Now back to sitting around in the good Qld warmth😎

        • You're coloured maroon because you have manboobs? I don't follow. Anyway, I've got a pool. And when it returns to liquid form, I'll be skinnydipping with a beer in one hand and a babe in the other.

          And medevac.

          (butsrslygoodonyouforthat)

        • +1

          @3 Hyenas:
          Please explain?
No that indicates the 👙bikini babes👙 we attract up here at this time of the year - they want to get close to the maroons. (& closest colour emoticon to maroon I found on my phone) We're also sexist - Pauline Hanson insists ;-)

          Pool - 😜thppt - we have beaches & sun 🌞 (I checked & that's the correct spelling of "thppt")

Medical evacuation, often shortened to medevac or medivac
I just call for it, rather than bother with wasting time with the spelling.

        • Beaches and sun? Crotch exfoliant and open-air sauna conditions.

And not only did you re-inflict Pauline Hanson on the rest of us, you also gave us bananaby and the mad katter. Go you.

        • +1

          @3 Hyenas:
The Southern cold is getting to you… bananaby is true Blue. Born in Tamworth, NSW & exported to work in Qld.

But Pauline was born in Brissie & Kataract in Cloncurry 😱

Believe me, all 3 have been inflicted on Qld long enough, so glad to share them.

Maybe they'll love Canberra & stay. But I doubt your permissive culture will suit them, unlike most country areas of Qld.

        • Oh so bananaby's a new soufer but greg inglis is a quoinslander through and through? I see how that works.

Joyce was probably normal before he moved up there. Hmm, I take that back.

        • +1

          @3 Hyenas:
Johnnie Depp's arch nemesis made a big deal of his connection with New England in this election. As a former senator for Qld, he told us the same story. I feel so used - but come back bananby, we still love use💋

Had to Google "greg inglis" as had no idea who he is.

        • I got no idea who he is either. Some nobody. In fact, I just pulled the name out of fat air.

Have you guys killed off that pesky great barrier reef yet?

        • +1

          @3 Hyenas:
Barrier Reef? Were doing our best, with help from Canberra 😜
I think China wants to buy what's left - that will fix our budget & find work for unemployed mine workers ;-) Tick the box marked "Jobs and Growth".

I've spent time on the reef with scientists, so am a little biased.

I grew up with politics as my sport up here in the bad old days. So sports references are lost on me.
Was constantly shaking hands with Joh Bjelke Petersen, taking calls from an ultra-right gun lobbyist, so those 3 nutty amigos you mentioned seem quite normal. Even met Bob Kataract more recently at the Cooktown races, schmoozing the electors.

But fell out of that mob for my environmental leaning & ended up with Special Branch (political) police stationed outside my home 24 hours a day to isolate me, & police raids… that's real Qld politics hospitality for you.

        • Holy crap, how could I forget about Joh Bjelke Peterson. Now he was a true country member (Well? DO you remember?) How does one state manage to churn out so many. It's mind-boggling, don't you worry about that.

You sound like you've lived a lifetime.

edit: Wait, when you said "as a former senator for queensland" did you mean yourself?!

        • +1

          @3 Hyenas:
"As a former senator for Qld, he told us"… referring to the Hon. bananaby.

And that was Sir Joh, thank you - he gave himself his knighthood. One sure sign of an autocrat.

For a look at the corruption and Canberra hating of Joh's Qld in 1985…
I was supposedly mounting an armed uprising of Aboriginal people to take over Qld - according to the front page of the Courier Mail, a few years earlier!
It was surprising news to me - far too much hard work for my liking. (I had simply provided food for protesters, & funds to help disseminate the Murri point of view of their abysmal treatment by the Qld government.)
Of course it was another tactic to scare the rural voters into supporting Joh, gain increased police powers, & justify police raids, brutality, & other abuses. But my overseas travel was curtailed, because as a suspected "terrorist" I was very unwelcome. No one these days would manufacture stories for their own political gain, cough.

I had a serving National Party Minister as a client years ago. He had worked with Joh & shared a few (confidential) stories with me & questioned Joh's sanity.

My mother was a friend of Flo, and my friends families were close to the Petersens. Very incestuous. That gave me a different insight into the corrupt ways. JBP came to Qld from NZ, but fitted Right in.

Sadly, the heat can do things to people's thought processes as well. It was said, Joh liked elections in the heat, as no one could be bothered changing the government.

          Oh goodness gracious me
          don't you worry about that
If you fly with the crows, you'll be shot with the crows

Yes, I've lived a few lifetimes… or at least it seems that way. Time is slow up here - and don't mention daylight saving… It will fade the curtains & spook the 🐮cows🐮 🙈🙉🙊

        • Ah, Queensland. Where would we be without you?

    • Half* the QLD team are actually NSWelshmen anyway, so you wouldn't really be selling your soul.

      * May not be mathematically accurate

    • +2

Great deal if you're willing to sell your soul. At least now I know how they get so many of those clowns wearing those dodgy blue wigs, they pay them to do it with discounted gift cards. Let's face it, this deal is the only way any Blues supporter will have that winning feeling. Queenslander forever!

  • +5

Is it possible to sign up with a fake name? Probably still too risky as friends, family or workplace could find out one day.

    • +1

Go Maroon, go, go. Eh, ya blue?

  • This is pretty good.

  • Good find OP, thanks.

  • -1

    No PayPal is this safe?

    • +1

      www.everydaygiftcards.com.au doesn't use Paypal…

    • +4

      it's an Oz online business.
If theres an issue, you dispute the transaction with your CC company/bank.
It's just like paypal, only quicker & easier.

  • Am I understanding this correctly, they give you some kind of membership card which you present at Kmart and SCA and they automatically give you the discount?

For $4.95 per year, this sounds too good to be true :)

    • +1

no, you will buy (e)gift cards via their rewards site.

      • lol, whoops. thanks!

        Sounds scary :)

    • No, it's an online store to purchase them from :)

    1. Earn points every time you shop
Couldn't find anymore info on this.

    Also, any credit card fees?

  • The real question, do the coles gift cards have no cc surchage and are e gift cards with no postage?

  • +1

More info here on the company behind the shop-front, complete with ABN, contact details etc

    • Thanks. Got it for free.

    • +1

🆓 Now, thats what I call a great deal 😯
Thanks, sold my Queenslander soul for free membership 👿

    • Legend! Got one for free.

      • Why would you post this as a deal to take his credit in the first place?

        • +3

I waited 15 minutes, no one posted it and OP was not updated. SO i did.

It's all about benefiting the ozbargain community rather than hating (as evident by the neg votes in my previous comment) but i guess hate before love/like is a normal human response.

I credited the OP in my deal so it should be all good.

        • @bazzaa:

Look who's talking , someone with only 3 pointless posts

And because of my deal , a few thousand Ozbargainer's got the free membership which would have probably gone unnoticed if it remained buried in the comments

    • Awesome signed up for free!

    • Oh captain my captain!

    • Awesome, free is free!!

    • Got it for free! Thanks a lot.

      Have a good one 🍻

  • How much is postage?

    7% off Netflix is handy

    • Delivery Fee $4.50

      • +1

sort of negates the savings :-(
        Egiftcards are good though

    • +1

FYI if you have an Apple account you can get 20% off Netflix by buying gift card from Officeworks

      • thanks…I'll need to get my hands on an idevice I suppose.
Actually I get ~25% off using Netflix Canada (~$9/mth).

        • +1

I get mine for nothing thanks to telstra pre paid, do I win?

        • Me too! And I did that by accident too. I put an American address into Netflix, but at some point they thought I was Canadian and started charging me in CAD. Shrug.

        • @tassieeagle: It sucks that you get that option but I just don't. It just isn't in the app!

        • @tassieeagle: you do!

        • Netflix Brazil is equally as cheap :)

        • @MrMcHairyHead: I uninstalled the app from my tablet and reinstalled. I then created a new account and followed the prompts until it got to payment method, then selected "bill my Telstra account" and that was it.

I'm not sure those are the exact steps I did but give it a go if you have time, it's worth it getting that Telstra credit working for you!

        • @tassieeagle: How? Pray tell :) !

        • @tassieeagle: Oh. So I have to make a new account? :( And lose my list and ratings and everything? Damn.

        • @MrMcHairyHead: yep, well that's the method I used, it's not well documented anywhere how to set it up to use Telstra billing

  • +1

    5-2=3

  • Is there an app with this site? I can't find eWallet on my Android device.

  • are any of the GC's bought through the supplier, or all via this website/company (and therefore some risk of not turning up)?

  • +3

Had a look through the site - most of the deals are the same as those found on CashRewards. Kmart/Coles 5% off is nice, so are the OfficeWorks & JB Hifi discounts.

However physical gift cards with a $4.50 postage fee do kill some of the deals for me.

    • what discount do you get with office works?

      • 5% but delivery cost tends to wipe out discount unless you buy multiple cards.
        $50 card costs $47.50 +$4.50 = $52
        $100 costs $95 +$4.50 = $97.50

Digital cards, paid by bank deposit are best deal.

  • Was there a previous Deal/website that had Coles/Kmart at 5% off. Or has it finished now? have bad memory

  • +1

So how does one know if the 500 limit has be reached.1200 plus clicks for both posts

  • +1

Do you get the gift cards immediately for the e-gift ones? And do they have the 2% credit processing fee? Also are they able to be used in store and how long expiry do they have? Cheers all

    • +6

      Yeah… after this was posted…

      • -8

        the rules say

        before you post a deal…

"Is this really the best price on the web? Check for the lowest prices."
2nd dot point after the pictures

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:deal_posting_guidelin…

        • +9

You sure you wanna cast that vote? Coz it's gonna be your 3rd neg vote revoked within 3 months = voting ban for 3 months

Hindsight neg voting isn't allowed, you're neg voting due to a deal that was posted after this was.

Not to mention that deal is now exhausted.

        • +2
          • That deal is now expired
          • Those who missed out on the free membership can now sign up via this deal
          • Thus, your negative vote is invalid
        • +2

it was the cheapest at the time of posting. The other deal was cheaper posted an hour after.

    • +1

As that other deal was only posted from a comment in this deal, that other cheaper deal would not have existed (at least by that deal's OP)… without this deal!

If it wasn't posted, there would be no deals for this membership offer.

  • +1

Got the free membership from comment in this deal.

Bought 5% discount Coles eGift card on Saturday, arrived in eWallet by Monday night, scanned at checkout Tuesday without any issue.

    Extra Coles discounts…
Bought $60+ to qualify for targeted "4x$60 purchases - get $50" offer. So effectively extra $12.50 discount.

    Even better - cash refund…
Online, 3 star mince is $15 for 2 x 1kg packs. Having bought 2 in-store for $8 each, I asked about this. Joy - got $8 refund for 1 pack free, and 50c refund for second to bring it to $7.50/kg online price.

    So 2kg mince cost $6.70😊
    $16 - $0.80(5% of $16) - $8.50 refund = $6.70😊

Went to next Coles & scored again, but 3rd would only match online price, so asked for a refund of $16 I paid.

  • +1

Processing eGift card orders is a bit slow, compared with buying digital cards such as Woolies Wish Cards. Especially when wanted for a sale like JB's tomorrow.

Buying with credit card costs 2% extra, but should be fastest way. I don't know how long processing takes, but may be available next day.

Direct deposit from bank account takes more than 24hours in my experience. Has taken until next morning after funds received before card appears in wallet.

Can store money in your wallet, so funds are instantly available after received.

But I'm wary of leaving funds in a business I know nothing about.

Also keep a copy (screenshot) of any eGift card bought, just in case. Gift cards can't be replaced if lost (by you or possibly by their system).

Hopefully your purchases are safe from hacking.

  • Is there a limit on how many gift cards you can buy? I'm looking at purchasing an expensive item (3k+) and was going to get the whole amount in gift cards using the highest denomination they offer. So 6x $500 cards.

    • +1

Successfully added 20 $500 JB eGift cards to cart to test. Just will take a while to receive them.
