Good prices, but really they are always on special, and always MASSIVE reductions on RRP. Dont get me wrong, I love 4wd supacenter , i have some orders with them at the moment. PS you should promote the swags, they are great

They're only 160w, you can get more powerful versions cheaper on ebay. Will arrive quicker too, 4wdsupacentre aren't exactly known for delivering the goods in their quoted time frame and these are already on pre-order for August, I wouldn't bank on that though.

No affiliation to any of the products/companies…

Edit, just noticed you linked the combo not just the spotties, I would be genuinely surprised if you couldn't get all the above for cheaper on ebay but don't have the time to look it all up right now.

      • Can vouch though that 4wd sc will at least do warranty , unlike some ebay places. not saying sc are the pinnacle but they are fair in my experiences

I had nothing but drama's trying to get my recalled snatch strap replaced. They tried to deny the claim as I purchased it with a subscription for 4WD Action (we all know they are in bed together) had to spell it out to them that as it was their product and it had been recalled they had no choice in the matter. Definitely left a sour taste in my mouth given the possible consequences if it failed.

        • @faded:
I'd say that was one of the customer team who may have had difficulty finding a receipt in the system or something along those lines and we also had new customer service team start when that occurred so it didn't help the matter.

I can assure you it's nothing like that now and we currently have a team of more than 20 customer service staff at the phones and emails to get back to as many people as possible!

@aussie-spearfisher: no receipt is required for recalled items surely?

        • @Possumbly: too much logical thinking there

  • Yeah nothing special here really, they have a new sale on every day/week, don't really trust their recovery gear after they were recalled due to there 8000kg rated snatch strap breaking with a load just over 5000kg and the drama's they gave me when I tried to get it replaced.

Awnings are good bang for buck but make sure you always tie it down no matter how little wind there is, watched my mates brand new Kings awning clean rip from the aluminium mounts from a slight gust on the beach one day, my SunseekerII did the same over the roof thing as I was parked next to him and has done on numerous occasions due to me being lazy and it has never broken. It's all due to the mounting point, mine was around 3mm whereas the Kings was 1-1.5mm (if you look at the ad for the awning the thin part I am talking about is either side of the "alloy knuckle in the first picture, that ripped clean out) Other than the thin mounting point they seem good, and you should really always tie them down anyway.

There steel roof racks are a bit of a lottery, some last well and don't rust have seen others rusted out in under a year or 2. I think it is due to the inconsistent quality of powdercoating. Shame as I'd love to give one of their flat racks a go.

Swags are good bang for buck too but expect lengthy delays if they aren't in stock when you order, the Thumper compressors are good bang for buck too.

      G'day Faded,

I appreciate your review on the products, it always helps to hear from customers to know what issues they may have had so we can look into it!

I personally work for 4WD Supacentre at the main head office in Silverwater and this is the first time we've had the Driving Lights under $200 as well as the Awning at $99 so they'd be my best picks of the bunch for sure.
We do have lots of sales all the time and change them up daily and weekly trying to throw new bundles together that our customers are asking for. In regards to the Snatch Strap recall, that's all been well and truly fixed with all of our gear being retested and passing with flying colours. I'm not sure of the dramas you received in your case but we had many customers trying to get their straps swapped over at once causing a bit of chaos around the office and I apologise for any inconveniences caused!

As you said with the awnings, best practice is to tie them down every use but I know what it's like out on the tracks and some times you may get carried away. Ours are one of the only awnings with the alloy hinges and anodised poles to prevent rust and at the end of the day, it may not be the Ferrari of the market but value for money wise we won't be beaten on price.

Steel Roof Racks, we haven't had rust issues in a long while with these and you'll find they will be from previous batches but our recent stock over the past few months are really well manufactured and sealed so you wont have those issues we had with previous manufacturers.

And the Swags and Thumper Compressor speak for themselves in terms of quality and value, they simply can't be beaten

The stock/pre-order dates and waiting times. This is solely due to a huge increase in sales that no one could have predicted.
The uptake we've received both in sales and reviews since the start of this year have been phenomenal which has helped us get volume discounts from manufacturers and pass the savings on to you guys!
Most of our manufacturers are working at full capacity and some products we have multiple manufacturers producing to get orders done.
We have huge amounts of stock coming in throughout this month and the next few with most products back in stock by the end of August and every product to be back in stock by end of September.
That's the only reason people have had delays with shipping but we make sure to mention it on every product when you can expect to receive it. We update these daily across the whole site depending on sales for the day etc..
The only thing out of our control is if something happens during the shipment process as they make their way to Aus.

I hope this might clear a few things up but this year especially 4WD Supacentre has taken the industry by storm and our product quality along with R&D is incredible, not to mention the 15 odd new products we have in the making ;)

      Cheers,
      Justin

Bought a steel roof rack couple months ago and yes I have rust already.

Bought a bullbar from these guys thinking how bad could it be?
Looked the goods, unpack, I could lift it with one hand, should have been sold as a lightbar, but it had a spot for a winch?for winching downhill maybe?
Good place to shop if you never intend to go outside the city and you have nrma cover
    Beware and bewarned

    • ouch, with that and faded's issues above ill give them a miss. thats a thousand bucks i probably shouldnt have spent in the first place i just saved :P

  • What's the weight of the 2x2.5m awning? Nothing in the specs.

Also, will it fit to a wire mesh basket like this? Thanks

    • You will need a set of cross bars ie rola roof racks or rhino racks in order to mount that basket, the awning should bolt up to the crossbars without too much fuss..

      • Have flat rola classic roof racks, and basket with angled sides. Presume their awning brackets will fit either side of the bottom of the mesh basket, but want to make sure.
