Has anyone tried any of the tours?
I'm interested in going on a self-guided tour since all transport between cities and accommodation is organised, but you still have the flexibility to roam where ever you want in the cities.

Any reason why you don't want to DIY/ With a Japan Rail pass transport between cities is an absolute breeze.
